Minisforum has introduced its first MiniWorkstation known as the MS-01 which features support for upto Core i9-13900H CPUs & discrete GPUs.

To end 2023, Minisforum is making three major announcements which include products such as the MS-01 Mini Workstation, the EM780 Mini PC, and the V3 Tablet. Starting with the launch of the MS-01, we have the company's first Mini Workstation design which comes with very strong I/O and expansion capabilities in a small footprint that starts at $549 US.

The Minisforum MS-01 Mini WorkStation will feature two configurations, one with the Intel Core i9-13900H and the other with the Core i9-12900H CPU. So you can expect some really good processor performance from 14 cores, 20 threads, and up to 5.4 GHz clock speeds. For memory, you can add up to 64 GB capacities rated at up to DDR5-5200 speeds. Storage options are also strong with three M.2 (4.0x4/3.0x4/3.0x2) that offer up to 2 TB capacities support per slot and a single U.2 NVMe SSD support for up to 24 TB capacities.

Another important aspect of the Minisforum MS-01 Mini WorkStation PC includes support for dGPU as it comes with a PCIe 4.0 x8 expansion slot that can support up to an NVIDIA RTX A2000 GPU. The slot should support other cards too but they might be limited due to the power capabilities that the PC has to offer.

I/O and connectivity remain strong with two 10 SFP+ ports with a 10 Gbps transfer rate, two 2.5 GbE LAN ports, and two full-speed USB4 ports with up to 40 Gbps transfer rates which make them great for eGPU (External GPUs) & also support Thunderbolt networking bridges with up to 20 Gbps speeds. Other IO includes two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a single HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio combo jack.

For the cooling solution, the Minisforum MS-01 WorkStation carries a cooling capacity of up to 80W for the CPU which is offered by a heatsink with U-shaped heatpipes and an active fan cooler. SSDs on the PC also get cooling from an active-cooled solution which blows hot air out of the chassis to keep the NVMe devices cool and running optimally.

In addition to the MS-01 Mini WorkStation, we have also been informed by Minisforum that the tiny EM780 PC with AMD Ryzen 7 7840U will be up for pre-sales next week along with the pre-show for the V3 3-in-1 tablet which makes use of AMD's latest Ryzen 8040 "Hawk Point" APUs. Minisforum is going to have several new products based around the latest Intel and AMD chips in 2024 so stay tuned.
