NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 12 GB and RTX 4060 8 GB graphics cards have been leaked by Gigabyte, reports Videocardz.

The latest leaks come within Gigabyte's Control Center software which was recently updated to support the latest SKUs including two unreleased NVIDIA graphics cards. Although the two specific variants are from the vendor itself, the listing confirms the memory configuration of both cards. As reported, the two models are:

  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 AERO OC 12 GB (GV-N4070AERO OC-12G)
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 Gaming OC 8 GB (GV-N4060GAMING OC-8GD)
  • Both models are custom designs by Gigabyte using its AERO OC and Gaming OC flavors but what's important here is the memory configuration. It looks like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 will utilize a 12 GB (192-bit bus) configuration while the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 would utilize an 8 GB (128-bit) configuration.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics Card "Rumored" Specifications

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is expected to feature the AD104-250/251 GPU core. The GPU will feature 5888 CUDA cores, and 12 GB GDDR6X VRAM clocked at 21 Gbps, There seem to be three PCB boards designed for the GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards, two of which we had pointed out last month and another one has been revealed by Kopite7kimi. Two of these are for the reference cards while one is for the Founders Edition as listed below:

  • PG141-SKU343 RTX 4070 Reference Edition AD104-250-A1
  • PG141-SKU344 RTX 4070 Founders Edition AD104-250-A1
  • PG141-SKU345 RTX 4070 Reference Edition AD104-251-A1
  • Following is a comparison of all the known Ada GPU dies for desktop graphics cards. (Credits to MEGAsizeGPU/TechpowerUP GPU Database for the AD102/AD103/AD104 die shots).

The graphics card is expected to feature a 200W TGP which featured a 220W TGP so you're getting a 10% reduction in power. Also, another interesting thing to note is that the GeForce RTX 4070 core config is very similar to the RTX 3070 which also features 5888 cores but the successor houses the Ada GPU core which should not only bring extra performance but also higher efficiency. The card is also reportedly clocked at 1920 MHz base and 2475 MHz boost clocks which gives it just around 30 TFLOPs of compute power.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Graphics Card "Rumored" Specifications

For the GeForce RTX 4060, NVIDIA is expected to utilize the AD107-400-A1 GPU, the fully enabled AD107 Ada die. Do note that the same configuration is used by the GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU. The chip is expected to feature 3072 CUDA cores and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory running at 18 Gbps memory speeds across a 128-bit bus interface. That gives the card 288 GB/s bandwidth and all of that will fall within a 115W reference TDP. The GPU is also said to feature 24 MB of cache (L2).

There's also the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti which remains to be a mystery but it is likely that all three cards will be announced or launched within the third quarter of 2023. The GeForce RTX 4070 in particular is going to launch on the 13th of April on retail shelves.
