Ryan Shrout Leaves Intel After Uplifting The Arc Graphics & Software Division To New Heights

Ryan Shrout has announced on X that he has left Intel five years after he joined the company to be a part of the graphics division and more importantly, the Arc team.
Ryan Shrout was already well-known for his work at PC Perspective prior to joining Intel back in 2018. At the company, Ryan served various roles starting off as the Chief Performance Strategist and leading up to becoming the Senior Director of Gaming for AXG and Senior Director of the Graphics & AI Group at CCG (Client Computing Group).
It looks like Fall is truly the season for change as AMD's Scott Herkelman also announced that he is resigning and leaving the company. Intel's Raja Koduri had also previously left the company to form his own AI company known as Mihira AI. Raja is also involved in Jim Keller's Tenstorrent as a board of directors. He was the chief architect and founder of Arc GPUs while at Intel.
Fall is a season for change! Yesterday was my last day at Intel. I’m going to take a couple weeks with the family then I’m excited to talk about what’s next! pic.twitter.com/G6QRr8WHjV

During his term at Intel, he was accompanied by Intel fellow, Tom Petersen, who worked really hard not only to bring the first Arc discrete graphics series to the market for both laptops & desktops but also went on an uphill battle to optimize and fix the software side of things which had been a major issue for the graphics division. After countless hours put into the driver work, Arc started to show its true potential and is currently regarded as a great value-to-money option with a great software stack to back it up.
It didn't stop there as Intel's graphics division went on to introduce brand new features such as the latest PresentMon monitoring system and more. Being part of Intel's graphics division may have been a hard journey for the entire team but it's one that has reaped some big rewards in the end. The company is now on its way to rolling out its next-gen Battlemage GPUs which are expected to be in a much better state at launch than the first-generation Alchemist GPUs. It will be a bit sad that Ryan won't be at Intel when the new GPU launches but the work that he and his team has done will surely be remembered.
