Philips Launches 34″ Ultrawide Office Monitors With Curved VA Panels, WQHD, 120Hz Refresh Rate & Lots of Connectivity

The Philips 34B2U6603CH and 34B2U5600C Ultrawide monitors will be available for purchase in mid-August at £599.99 and £439.99 respectively.

Philips has just added two new premium monitors to its catalog, aiming to boost productivity and efficiency in the office. Both monitors feature a 34-inch ultrawide form factor and a resolution of 3440x1440 pixels. However, the Philips 34B2U6603CH belongs to the 6000 series, and the 34B2U5600C to the 5000. There are a lot of identical specifications but there are many differences too, particularly in the connectivity area.

The Philips 34B2U6603CH monitor features a sleek and minimalist design with thin bezels. Along with an ultra-wide 1440p resolution, the display has a curvature of 1500R for better immersion. Unlike the other edition, this one brings DisplayHDR 400 support out of the box for vivid details and excels in connectivity with the Thunderbolt 4 port.

It features a VA panel with a response time of 4ms GtG and can operate up to a maximum 120Hz refresh rate for fluidity. Both its DP 1.4 and Thunderbolt 4 ports support 120Hz at 3440x1440p resolution while the HDMI can support up to 100Hz. The maximum brightness of this display is 450 nits in SDR mode, which can be increased to 550 nits in HDR. The color gamut includes 101% NTSC and 120% sRGB for vibrant colors and has great color accuracy with Delta E < 2 for sRGB.

The monitor also comes with an EyeSafe feature for long working hours and Adaptive-Sync for a tear-free experience. Users will also get a fast 2.5G LAN and all the necessary connectivity ports in a USB hub at the back, including USB 3.2, 1x Thunderbolt 4 and USB C1(Data) for Upstream; 1x Thunderbolt 4, 4x USB-A, and USB-C2(Data, 45W) for Downstream.

The Philips 34B2U5600C is similar to the 6000 series monitor but excludes HDR support, and Thunderbolt 4, and introduces a few changes in the display properties. It too boasts a 3440x1440p resolution on a 1500R curved VA panel but has a max brightness of 300 nits. The color gamut is slightly higher in the NTSC area with 104% coverage but sRGB space remains the same at 120%.

Due to the absence of Thunderbolt 4 port, users will have to use either the HDMI port that maxes out at 100Hz or the DP 1.4 port that can offer up to 120Hz refresh rate. In the connectivity area, for wired internet connection, a 1G LAN port is provided at the back along with a USB hub with several Type A and C ports. The monitor can provide power delivery of up to 100W, which is similar to the 6000 series monitor but through the USB C 3.2 Upstream port instead.

Both Philips office monitors have a Smart KVM feature for easily switching devices as well as an Audio/Microphone combo jack. The monitors will be available soon for purchase at £599.99 for the 34B2U6603CH model and £439.99 for the 34B2U5600C one.
