NVIDIA Reportedly Delays GeForce RTX 4070 Super Orders Until End Of September

All NVIDIA partners will have to wait for a few weeks before they can have the GeForce RTX 4070 Super chips from the GPU giant.

After releasing the RTX 4070 with GDDR6 memory due to the GDDR6X memory shortage, NVIDIA is now delaying shipping the GeForce RTX 4070 Super chips to its partners. As reported at Chinese Board Channels, it is suggested that all the RTX 4070 Super orders have been bounced by NVIDIA and the GPU manufacturers will have to wait until the last week of this month.

The reason for this delay isn't revealed, but according to a channel provider, NVIDIA won't be resuming the GeForce RTX 4070 Super chips shipment until the last week of September. This will force AIBs to manage their existing and limited RTX 4070 Super inventory for a few weeks as it is one of the most popular and best graphics cards in the market at the moment.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super sells like hotcakes in the Korean DIY market and is among the top 10 best-selling GPUs on Amazon as well as Newegg and various retail stores. The GPU debuted in January this year for US$599, which is $50 higher than the launch MSRP of the RTX 4070. However, with 20% higher Cuda Cores and other smaller spec improvements, the RTX 4070 Super came ahead by approximately 18-20% for only 50 bucks more.

Right now the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super GPU is abundantly available in most retail stores but with the delay for a few weeks, the availability of a lot of RTX 4070 Super variants from various AIBs may be affected. This can also result in a price hike but it is most likely going to be temporary. As we approach the RTX 50 series Blackwell launch, NVIDIA will soon shift its focus more on the newer cards, especially when the higher-end RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 card designs are getting finalized this month.

The higher-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 "Blackwell" series will supposedly bring higher TDPs than their predecessors, including the RTX 5070, which will succeed the RTX 4070 and Super variant.
