NVIDIA's GeForce RTX GPUs are very popular in the Korean DIY market as the RTX 4060 & RTX 4070 are the best sellers.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX lineup is undoubtedly the best-selling option across the world and the DIY markets in several regions are evidence of that. It looks like even South Korean gamers see the RTX GPUs as the best choice for gaming.

Based on a new report from Danawa Research which compiled data on major retail outlets within South Korea, NVIDIA's latest GPUs have gained huge traction in the gaming segment. What's more interesting is that we get an idea of how the market has responded to the recent NVIDIA "SUPER" series refresh.

Starting with the numbers, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU holds the biggest share, accounting for 27.7% of the total sales during April (2024). This is slightly below its peak of 28.93% a month prior. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti takes up the second spot with a sales share of 21.63% which is also lower than the 23.01% share it achieved a month prior.

The graphics card that gained the largest number of sales is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER which also seems to be the best "SUPER" series card among the trio. The card reached 14.86% sales share within four months which is quite huge and shows that it is the perfect fit for high-end gaming masses as the card retails for around $550-$600 US. The RTX 4070 SUPER GPU also comes with the largest performance increase over the other SUPER cards over their non-SUPER siblings.

The other cards including the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER with a 6.26% sales share and the RTX 4080 SUPER with a 4.77% sales share which is higher than that of the RTX 4070 Non-SUPER as the latter has declined drastically due to the arrival of the SUPER variant. Another interesting data point is that almost all GeForce RTX 30 "Ampere" graphics cards have lost being at the top position to the RTX 40 "Ada" lineup which dominates the Korean DIY market now.

In the US market, we can see that the only RTX 30 GPU that is still in the top 10 charts is the RTX 3060 while the rest of the NVIDIA cards are all 40 series variants. Following are the top 10 sellers listed at Amazon & Newegg:

Looking at the Steam Hardware Survey charts, it looks like NVIDIA is once again dominating the most popular PC gaming platform with a share of 76.59% while AMD commands a share of 15.79% followed by Intel's 7.49%.

The most popular graphics cards include the GeForce RTX 3060, RTX 2060, and older 10 series cards but the GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 series are gaining traction and now amount to over 2.4% market share (per GPU) respectively. You can check out the full statistics here.
