MSI's forthcoming Z890 & B860 motherboards within the Intel 800-series family for Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs have been revealed.

Intel's Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs are expected to be announced during Computex 2024 but it looks like motherboard vendors have prepped up their next-gen products featuring the Intel 800 series chipsets. These new chipsets will include the Z890, H870, B870 & H810 designs.

MSI is one of the highest-regarded motherboard vendors and it looks like the company has made its submission for its next-gen lineup which includes a diverse range of Intel 800-series boards like the MEG, MPG, MAG & PRO series.

Starting with the top most series, we have 8 motherboards within the MSI Z890 motherboard line which include the flagship MEG GODLIKE, MEG ACE, followed by the Unify-X, Carbon WIFI, Edge TI WIFI, Tomahawk WIFI and Z890-P WIFI. There's also a Mini-ITX version of the Edge TI WIFI while the Unify-X should carry a dual DIMM design, extending the already boosted memory capabilities of the Intel Arrow Lake CPU platform.

The GODLIKE and ACE should cover the top-tier market segment, with the ACE likely being tagged around the $600 US+ mark while the GODLIKE should carry a price point well above $1000 US as has been the tradition of previous GODLIKE motherboards. Following is the high-end MSI Z890 lineup:

  • MEG Z890 GODLIKE (E-ATX)
  • MEG Z890 ACE (ATX)
  • MEG Z890 UNIFY-X (ATX)
  • MPG Z890 Carbon WIFI (ATX)
  • MPG Z890 EDGE TI WIFI (ATX)
  • MPG Z890I EDGE TI WIFI (Mini-ITX)
  • MAG Z890 Tomahawk WIFI (ATX)
  • PRO Z890-P WIFI (ATX)
  • Moving over to the MSI B860 series, we are looking at the more mainstream and budget-friendly designs. These options only scale from MAG to MPG designs and include four motherboards, the EDGE Ti WIFI (mATX), EDGE WIFI (Mini-ITX), Tomahawk WIFI and the Mortar WIFI (mATX). All four motherboards should carry price points in the $150-$300 US range and the lineup includes:

  • MPG B860M EDGE TI WIFI (mATX)
  • MPG B860I EDGE WIFI (Mini-ITX)
  • MAG B860 Tomahawk WIFI (ATX)
  • MAG B860M Mortar WIFI (mATX)
  • Now while the exact specifications or designs of these motherboards are still not known yet, we can expect those details very soon as Computex 2024 is just around the corner, and not just the Intel 800 series motherboards such as the Z890 & B860 series will be fully on display but we will also get more details on the Intel Arrow Lake-S "Core Ultra 200" Desktop CPU lineup. Meanwhile, other board makers such as Gigabyte have already teased their flagship Z890 AORUS Xtreme AI TOP design which you can learn more about here.
