The high-refresh-rate LG OLED panels will feature an incredibly low 0.02ms response time for competitive gamers.

LG has begun mass-producing high-end OLED panels for gaming enthusiasts. The company has been producing enthusiast-grade as well as affordable displays for years but the mass production of premium OLED panels with ultra-fast response is its major step in revolutionizing the gaming monitor industry.

The LG 27-inch 480Hz QHD Gaming OLED panel is the main focus in this mass production as this is the sweet spot for enthusiasts, which offers the best of both worlds(detail and fluidity). The OLED panel being one of the best in the market, will be now faster than ever, featuring a response time of just 0.02ms Grey-to-Grey compared to the current 0.03ms response time. This will be even quicker in transitioning the frames without any ghosting or blurriness.

The company's VP and Head of the Large Display Product Planning Division said,

We will create differentiated customer value and secure leadership in the high-end gaming display market based on the advantages of LG Display’s unparalleled OLED technologies, such as an ultra-high refresh rate, fast response time, and ultra-high resolution,

The company has announced that it is also working to expand its monitor lineup with various screen sizes. From standard 27-inch to large 45-inch monitors, LG is preparing to offer several options for gamers who want an immersive and top-notch gaming experience. LG's gaming OLEDs are equipped with META technology for improving picture quality through MLA or Micro Lens Array. This increases the brightness and reduces reflections simultaneously.

The OLED panels will be equipped with Dynamic Frequency & resolution(DFR) for dual-mode display. This will enable users to choose between FHD@480Hz and UHD@240Hz modes for either fast-paced competitive games or more immersive triple-A titles. The monitors shall be available with both Flat and Curved panels with up to a curvature of 800R for incredibly high immersion.

One more important point LG added is that their new OLED panels emit half the blue light of LCD screens for reduced eye fatigue and headaches. As mentioned by LG, the gaming monitor market will increase at an annual growth rate of 5.8% through 2027, increasing the total market value from US$12.77 billion in 2024 to US$15.13 billion in 2027.

Recently, LG announced that it has solved the OLED brightness and efficiency issue by implementing the two-stack tandem structure. While this OLED panel may not be used in the mass production at the moment, it is soon going to be assessed through another mass production performance assessment and review productization.
