Intel's 12th & 13th Gen CPUs are available at some sweet price points with the recent discounting spree going on at several US-based retailers.
Intel's 12th & 13th Gen CPUs offer a lot of value, especially in the budget and mainstream segment and the discounting spree continues at major US retailers such as Amazon, Newegg & Microcenter.
Starting with the prices, the Intel 12th Gen CPUs are discounted much lower than their MSRPs and come as a great solution for budget and mainstream PC builders. The Intel Core i5-12600KF with its 10 cores & 16 threads is currently available for as low as $149 US, the Core i7-12700KF with 12 cores & 20 threads is available for as low as $199 US while the flagship Core i9-12900KF with its 16 cores & 24 threads is available for $298 US.
Coming to the 13th Gen CPU lineup, the Core i5-13600KF with 14 cores & 20 threads is available for as low as $243.79 US, the Core i7-13700KF with 16 cores and 24 threads is available for as low as $331.19 US while the Core i9-13900KF with 24 cores and 32 threads is available for as low as $464 US.
Microcenter further sweetens the deal by offering special savings which include a bundled 32 GB DDR5-6000 memory kit and up to $20 US worth of savings when buying a compatible & eligible motherboard with one of these Intel CPUs. The offer is only applicable to certain SKUs in the 12th, 13th, and even the latest 14th-gen CPU family. In terms of performance per dollar, the Intel 12th & 13th Gen CPUs in the sub $300 US segment are still very popular in the DIY segment and give some heated competition to AMD's budget offerings which mostly include Ryzen 5000 CPUs and some of the recent discounted Ryzen 7000 CPUs such as the Ryzen 5 7600 and the Ryzen 5 7500F.
The PC platform cost for Intel has also come down significantly as LGA 1700 motherboards are available in abundant supply in the sub-$150 US segment with B660 and B760 being the choice for a majority of gamers. DDR5 prices have also fallen significantly over the last couple of months making them the choice to go to future-proof your PC for future platform upgrades.
