In China, you can find Intel's top Arc A770 GPUs for the same price as AMD's recently launched Radeon RX 7600.

At popular Chinese retail outlet, JD.com, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 is listed for its lowest price of 2089 RMB or $290 US. This is slightly lower than the MSRP for the card which is 2149 RMB in the same region. Meanwhile, the Intel Arc A770 can be found for as low as 2099 RMB or $295 US and that's a great deal for the graphics card based on the performance it has to offer.

Both cards available at these prices are custom models with AMD's Radeon RX 7600 based on the Yeston triple-fan solution and the Intel Arc A770 based on the GUNNIR Photon design. Both cards feature 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and while the Arc A770 is available in a 16 GB variant, the costs a bit more however, it is also the cheapest 16 GB card available on the market at the moment.

With that said, it looks like GUNNIR decided to post some benchmarks of the Arc A770 Photon vs the AMD Radeon RX 7600 with the new price cuts in place. The performance was evaluated at the three different resolutions (1080P, 1440P, 2160P) and in multiple titles which include The Witcher 3, Atomic Heart, Metro Exodus, Control, Dying Light 2, CSGO, and APEX.

At 1080p, the Intel Arc A770 outperformed the AMD Radeon RX 7600 in all major AAA titles and only took a beating in eSports titles. In raytracing titles such as Control and Metro Exodus, Intel's Arc A770 secured a big lead over the RDNA 3 GPU. As soon as the GPUs are moved to 1440p, we see an even bigger disparity between the Arc A770 and RX 7600. The Intel GPU outperforms the RDNA 3 chip in all games while only taking a small hit in Witcher 3. CSGO and APEX at 1440p run way faster on the Arc GPU.

Lastly, we have the 1440p benchmarks where the Intel Arc A770 totally crushes the Radeon RX 7600 GPU in all titles. The Arc A770 is able to deliver over 60 FPS in the majority of AAA titles except for the two titles that were running raytracing. Control being the heaviest title delivered 30+ frames on the Arc A770 while RX 7600 was stuck with close to half the performance.

The poor performance at a higher resolution of the Radeon RX 7600 can be attributed to its very narrow 128-bit bus. AMD in its marketing slides showed that the 32 MB of Infinity Cache will help offset the bandwidth & bus restrictions but that doesn't seem to be the case here and Intel's Alchemist GPU with a wider 256-bit bus and no extra Infinity cache performs buttery smooth at higher res gaming.

Intel Alchemist also offers better ray tracing capabilities and XeSS has proven to be more of a DLSS competitor than an FSR competitor. The work Intel has done on its driver surely shows here and with the current prices of Arc, these mainstream graphics cards make AMD's and NVIDIA's newest options look quite underwhelming.
