G.Skill Achieves DDR5-11254 Memory Overclock at Computex 2023

DDR5 memory has finally achieved a new record memory overclocking. Famous overclockers Hicookie and Sergmann have pushed beyond the limits to reach a record-breaking 11254 MT/s speed.
At Computex 2023, the memory company G.Skill hosted an overclocking competition where several experts were invited to try and break records. The event became competitive, with new records forming and dying simultaneously. On June 8th, the overclocker expert Seby9123 broke the initial record at the event by achieving 11240 MT/s speeds through his 16GB G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5-7800 memory module in a single-channel mode. This attempt had a 20MT/s higher rate than his previous set record in May.
Seby9123's achievement only remained relevant for a short time as Hicookie and Sergmann gave it all to break it. Just hours after, they published their own record of 11254 MT/s memory speed, surpassing all previous scores. They utilized Intel's Core i9 13900K to achieve this, underclocked to 803.9 MHz.
In addition, liquid nitrogen cooling was used on the CPU (but, interestingly, not on the memory modules) to extract more power. The motherboard and RAM were from GIGABYTE; the memory was 16GB AORUS DDR5 in a single channel and was installed on the Z790 Aorus Tachyon motherboard. The memory frequency was set at 5627.3 MHz, and the timings were 64-127-127-127-2.

Such overclocking competitions are held to test the limits of memory modules of several vendors in the market. Several records have been created before, and it is only a matter of time before they are broken again.
