HP Unveils The Intel “Core Ultra 200V” OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 Laptop; Starting At $1499

HP unveiled its latest OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 laptop, which houses Intel's "Core Ultra 200V" Lunar Lake CPUs and has a unique design language.
It's safe to say that every mainstream laptop vendor is jumping into Intel's "Lunar Lake" bandwagon, and after the likes of Dell, HP has decided to take matters into its own hands through the newest OmniBook Ultra Flip 14, which is now fueled with the power brought by Intel's Core Ultra 2 SKUs, and by the looks of it, Intel is on its way to provide a tough competition to the likes of AMD and Qualcomm, especially in the segment of AI performance.
Starting with the specifications of OmniBook Ultra Flip 14, the laptop is expected to feature different CPU flavors, providing consumers the option to choose from a wide range of CPU pools. This includes high-end models such as the Core Ultra 9 288V, Core Ultra 7 258V, and Core Ultra 7 256V, all the way to the Core Ultra 5 226V. The OmniBook Ultra Flip 14, as the name suggests, features a 2-in-1 form factor, which is probably one of the few variants to come within Intel's Lunar Lake laptop lineup. Featuring the Eclipse Grey and Atmospheric Blue color schemes, the laptop features a gorgeous design, and its form factor takes portability to a whole new level, especially when it comes to confined workspaces. At a high level, the new OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is designed to empower freelancer creators to work and create differently. This new form factor from HP is built grounds up to work and create with AI in multiple form factors.
Moving onto memory and storage configurations, the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 features support for LPDDR5x-8533 memory onboard, that too in a dual-channel system, allowing consumers to equip 16 GB/32 GB of memory, which is decent for modern-day computing, and even complies with Microsoft's Copilot+ PC certification. The laptop allows up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage, with baseline configuration coming at 512 GB, which is yet again ample enough for current use cases.
The display is what stands out in the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14, as the laptop features a 14-inch 3K OLED display that not only has multi-touch enabled but offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz with VRR support. Apart from this, the laptop comes with 500 nits brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, providing consumers with the best display quality.
For network and port connectivity, the laptop supports Wi-Fi7 and Bluetooth 5.4 and comes with 2x Thunderbolt 4 (USB Type-C) 40Gbps ports, which are equipped with DisplayPort 2.1 & a dedicated PD connection. The OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 also offers a USB Type-C 10Gbps port that supports DisplayPort 1.4a and power delivery.
One key advantage of Intel's Lunar Lake platform is its impressive power consumption figures, and given that the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is equipped with a 64 Wh battery, it is certainly going to be long-lasting, probably providing over 20+ hours of battery life. HP hasn't disclosed official figures yet, but we will keep an eye out and update in case we get performance figures.
Overall, the OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 is a solid release since it decorates HP's laptop arsenal with the Core Ultra 200V CPUs and makes the manufacturer much more competitive in the segment. In terms of pricing, the OmniBook Ultra Flip is expected to be $1,499.99 in late September, while consumers would need to pay $1,699.99 as a premium for the pre-order model.
