HP Aims To Make Its Gaming-Focused Omen Transcend 14 The Lightest 14″ Laptop With Intel Core Ultra CPUs

HP is prepping its brand new Omen Transcend 14 laptop which it claims is the lightest 14" design with Intel Core Ultra "Meteor Lake" CPUs.
In an exclusive leak, Windows Report has revealed the first look at the HP Omen Transcend 14 which is a gaming laptop featuring a 14" design. The new design retains the gaming aesthetic & comes equipped with high-end hardware which should be more than enough for your portable gaming needs.
In terms of specifications, you are getting up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H "Meteor Lake" CPU which packs 16 cores, 22 threads, 24 MB of cache, and a clock speed of up to 5.1 GHz. This chip can hit a maximum turbo power of 115W but the specs don't list how far the Omen will be able to push it. As for GPU, while the Intel Core Ultra CPUs pack a very capable Arc iGPU with 8 Xe-Cores clocked at up to 2350 MHz, the Omen Transcend 14 comes with up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU in 8 GB flavor.
Other specifications include support for up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-7467 memory, up to 2 TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe (TLC-NAND) storage, a 14" 2.8K (2880x1800) OLED panel rated at up to 120 Hz refresh rates with a 0.2 ms response time and 500 nits of HDR brightness. There's a 1080p IR camera & you are also getting HyperX audio that powers a dual speaker setup with DTS:X technology. I/O includes a range of ports including Thunderbolt 4 Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, HDMI 2.1, and a headphone + microphone combo jack.
Wireless connectivity options include either WIFI7 (BE200) + BT5.4 or WIFI6E (AX211) + BT5.3 chips. The battery on the HP Omen Transcend 14 is rated at 71 Wh and comes with a 140W USB Type-C power adapter. The laptop is rated to offer up to 11.5 hours of battery life though that depends on the kind of workload. It will be much lower in workloads such as content creation or gaming.
The whole thing weighs 1637 grams which is lighter than some of the higher-end 14th Gen Raptor Lake HX designs and as per HP's claims, it's the lightest 14" gaming design. Following are the full specs of the laptop courtesy of Windows Report:
There's no word on the pricing yet but we can expect more details at CES 2024 which is just a few weeks away.
