China’s Montage Technology Rebadges Intel’s Recently Launched 5th Gen Xeon “Emerald Rapids” Chips & Sells As Its Own

Montage Technology, a Chinese server provider, has rebadged Intel's 5th Gen Xeon "Emerald Rapids" CPUs & started selling them as its own.
It won't be the first time that we have seen Chinese companies copy or entirely rebadge chips from Intel and AMD. The biggest example was the PowerStar X86 CPUs which were confirmed to be the 10th Gen Comet Lake chips from Intel after the company showcased them as their design at a domestic event.
There is also the recent Zhaoxin KX-7000 CPU launch which features chips that are very similar in shape and size to the recent Intel Alder Lake & Raptor Lake parts & are also supported by the LGA 1700 socket.
Now we have a third such example coming from Chinese company, Montage Technology, who have introduced their 5th Gen Jintide CPUs for server platforms. At first glance, these chips bear a lot of resemblance with Intel's Xeon CPUs but the IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader) on the front has the Montage Technology logo and a different ID than what we would normally see on the Intel Xeon chips. So one might think that Montage Technology is just reusing the IHS from Xeon chips while the underlying architecture is of their own in-house design but that's unfortunately not the case here.
Upon looking up the specifications of these 5th Gen Jintide CPUs, it is made very clear that these are indeed Intel's 5th Gen Xeon "Emerald Rapids" chips as made evident by the SKU, Part number, and specs listed on their official page. There are five SKUs listed which include the 8558P, 4514Y, 5520+, 6542Y, and the 6548Y+. All of these are official Intel Xeon SKUs and they even have the same specs with the top chip maxing out at 48 cores, 96 threads, 260 MB L3 cache, and 350W TDPs.
The Jintide platform that Montage Technology refers to as its own is also based on the Intel LGA 4677 socket. It's been only four days since Intel launched its 5th Gen Xeon "Emerald Rapids" CPUs and Montage Technology already rebadged and started using its labels and shipping them with their servers.
It is weird but given how the company isn't referencing an official deal with Intel on this matter, it looks like they aren't in the clear on what they are doing in terms of business practices though we can't say for sure and it is real hard to reach the company for a comment on this. This is not the last such case of its kind as we have seen this repeat over and over so it looks like this is just the norm in China. There are several authentic tech companies in China with very aggressive CPU and GPU products in development or in market but then there are also companies like these who just rebadged others' products and sell them like it was made by them.
