AMD Threadripper’s Record-Shattering Spree Continues As 7995WX Now Breaks Past 210K Barrier In Cinebench R23

AMD's Threadripper PRO 7995WX has now broken past the 210K barrier in Cinebench R23, setting a new benchmark for all workstation-class CPUs.

If the previous LN2 record wasn't impressive already, we now have an even better score that has been obtained by South Korean and Legendary overclocker, SAFEDISK, who has now secured the top spot in Cinebench R23 rankings with the AMD Threadripper PRO 7995WX 96-Core CPU. AMD's Threadripper CPUs offer huge performance out of the box but as showcased recently LN2, liquid and air-cooling overclocking offers huge performance uplifts which is impressive for these HEDT & Workstation chips.

The latest overclock was achieved with an AMD Threadripper PRO 7995WX CPU running on ASUS's flagship PRO WS WRX90-SAGE SE motherboard which offers an insane 41 Power Stages, five 8-pin power connectors, a standard ATX connector, two large aluminum heatsinks covering the VRMs & each with its dedicated active-fan cooler, a massive PCH cover which houses the M.2 ports and an additional active-fan cooling solution, 8-channel / 8-DIMM memory support and seven PCIe Gen5.0 x16 slots.

The motherboard was running the CPU with an overclock of 6.25 GHz (1.62V) under LN2 and temps were reported at a peak of -18C. There was also 256 GB of G.Skill ZETA Z5 NEO DDR5 R-DIMM sticks running at 6400 MT/s (CL32). The CPU scored 210,702 points which puts it more than twice as fast as the stock chip.

With this latest entry, AMD now holds all top 10 positions in the Cinebench R23 MT Hall of Fame with its Threadripper and EPYC CPUs. Intel sits at 11th place but it looks like the blue team will be unable to catch up with Threadripper for several years to come until it takes radical steps in the HEDT/Workstation segment otherwise this market belongs to AMD for the foreseeable future.
