The AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D CPU is often overlooked due to the value it offers but recently this chip has seen some aggressive promotions with its price closing in on the $400 US mark. It packs a total of 128 MB of L3 cache which includes a singular 64 MB stacked cache which is part of the 3D V-Cache design. This stack is featured on one of the two CCDs with each CCD featuring 6 cores. There's also a 12 MB L2 cache and the chip has a rated TDP of 120W by default. You can the options to tune the chip such as undervolting and PBO but the chip does limit the max operating temperature to 89C which is a tad below the standard Ryzen 9 7900X which supports a higher 170-watt TDP.

In terms of performance, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D should have an edge in overall gaming perf since it has 8 cores that are boosted by the 64 MB 3D V-Cache versus the 6 cores on the 7900X3D. But the one big advantage that the Ryzen 9 7900X3D is giving users four extra cores and 8 threads which should result in some phenomenal multi-threaded performance, making it a great solution for those who want a great gaming and content creation experience.

The pricing is great too and if you are building a new Ryzen 7000 PC and looking for a chip below the $400 US mark with loads of performance coupled with spectacular efficiency, the 7900X3D is a great choice.
