Samsung's DRAM Division Finally Sees Profitability After Years of Struggle 1

After years of struggle with inventory levels and consumer demand, Samsung's DRAM division has finally seen the light, as they record a surplus profit in the overall revenue.

We all are pretty aware of the fact that the DRAM sector, particularly those associated with consumer memory and storage, has been witnessing a downfall for years now. This was mainly due to how inventory levels reached an all-time high post-COVID era, but the drastic drop in consumer demand became a colossal trouble for DRAM companies like Samsung. Through vigorous inventory correction measures, the Korean giant has finally witnessed a surplus in monthly performance, suggesting a potential upturn.

Based on Korean sources, Samsung Electronics has entered the "positive" zone with DRAM and NAND sales and could see a profitable quarter for the first time in five years. The firm expected the upturn, considering that they have been implementing large-scale measures. We haven't received the profit figures yet from the firm, but it is indeed positive news for the DRAM sector, and if this trend continues, we might see profitable quarters moving into the future, which will be promising for the sector as a whole.

Well, it seems like the bad days are finally over for the DRAM and NAND segment, and with the influx of the AI hype, we might see sustainable growth moving on. However, this can also mean that consumers can potentially witness an upsurge in DRAM products moving into the future, and as highlighted several times earlier, getting storage and memories may become more costly if the inventory correction stays at this pace.
