AMD's Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs launch in a few weeks but it looks like one lucky user has got hands on the Ryzen 7 9700X several days ahead.

There's no doubt that the imminent launch of AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs has got every PC enthusiast and PC gamer excited. These chips are going to bring a brand new architecture & will deliver faster performance with lots of new tuning capabilities. The best part is that you won't have to switch to a new platform and if you are already running an AM5 motherboard, you are all set to upgrade.

While the retail launch is expected to take place on the 31st of July, it looks like one lucky customer has got his hands on not one but two next-gen Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs. User, ElectricalEmployer 22, has posted in the pcmasterrace subreddit about how he got not one but two AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs. These CPUs are the Ryzen 7 9700X which are 8-core chips based on the picture, the box appears to be in line with the official packaging and we can also see the chip visible through the box.

It isn't mentioned which store were these found at but it looks like this could've been a mistake by an employee or the shop itself since the NDA on sales doesn't lift until a few weeks. It could also be possible that the user here is a store employee who got excited to post about the Ryzen 9000 CPU as soon as they got it.

Also, there's no word on the pricing but the part number does appear to match that of the Ryzen 7 9700X which is "100-100001404WOF". According to reports and what we have gathered from early listings, the CPU prices for Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" chips are going to be very similar to existing Ryzen 7000 "Zen 4" CPUs which is good to know since you can get better performance while paying the same price as MSRPs of the previous-gen.

Besides this, reviewers are already getting their hands on these chips ahead of the launch to prepare for their performance evaluations. That is also where all the performance leaks are coming in from as the majority of testers still don't know that the benchmarks they are running are being automatically uploaded to online databases.

The AMD Ryzen 7 9700X "100-000001404" is an 8-core CPU with 16 threads, a base clock of 3.8 GHz, a boost clock of up to 5.5 GHz, 40 MB of cache (1 CCD with 32 MB L3 + 8 MB L2), and a low TDP of 65W which is also much lower than the 105W TDP featured on its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 7700X. As mentioned above, the CPU is expected to launch with the rest of the Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" lineup by July's end so stay tuned.
