AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB GPU Introduced: Faster 2048 Core RDNA 3 Chip, Double The VRAM of RTX 4060 At $329

The AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT is official, offering 16 GB and a super-charged RDNA 3 GPU that tackles the RTX 4060 at $329 US.
The AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB GPU is targeted at 1080p gamers who are looking to upgrade from an older graphics card such as the GeForce RTX 2060 or the Radeon RX 5600 XT. The graphics card offers the latest RDNA 3 graphics core which is optimized for 1080p max gaming and with its 16 GB VRAM, it can even handle certain games at 1440p.
Plus, AMD is offering the latest software support such as HYPR-RX, Ray Tracing, AV1, FSR3, and much more with its new graphics package.
Specifications-wise, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT GPU is very similar to the Radeon RX 7600 with the same Navi 33 GPU core. This chip offers 32 compute units or 2048 stream processors, 64 AI accelerator cores, and boosted clock speeds of up to 2.47 GHz (Game) and 2.76 GHz (Boost). It marks a 10% uplift in the game and a 4% uplift in boost clocks over the RX 7600. The memory sees a capacity boost from 8 GB to 16 GB across the same 128-bit bus and 18 Gbps speeds for 288 GB/s bandwidth. The chip also carries 32 MB of 2nd Generation Infinity cache.
In terms of TDP, the clock speeds have led to a 25W increase in total board power or TBP which means that the card requires dual 8-pin connectors, a big difference versus the single 8-pin MBA design for the Radeon RX 7600 8 GB GPU. The same display outputs are included (DP 2.1 & HDMI 2.1).
In terms of performance, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB GPU offers a 19.42% average uplift over the Radeon RX 7600 and up to a 46% improvement in 1440p gaming which shows the advantage of having a higher memory buffer in high-resolution gaming. For 1080p with maxed settings and RT, the Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB GPU sits at an average of 17.5% faster and up to 40% faster versus the Radeon RX 7600 8 GB.
Compared to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB GPU offers a 7.7% uplift on average at 1080p max settings across several games without using frame-gen upsampling technologies. With frame-gen set to quality mode across both cards (DLSS 2/3 / FSR 2/3), you are looking at an average uplift of 45% and up to a 76% boost in performance for the Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB vs the RTX 4060 8 GB GPU.
At 1440p, this difference is even bigger with the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT scoring a 9.37% gain on average over the RTX 4060 8 GB without frame-gen applied and a 46% boost on average with frame-gen enabled.
Another advantage of having 16 GB VRAM is support for AI Large Language Models. With robust software support backed by ROCm 6.0 in consumer graphics cards such as RDNA 3, the Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB can handle larger models and larger creative projects alongside the DirectML optimizations. The card offers up to 20% faster processing in Llama 7B and 30% faster creation in apps such as DaVinci Resolve (PugetBench).
The AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB GPU will be available on the 24th of January for a retail SEP (Suggest Etail Price) of $329 US.
It will be available in custom designs from ASRock, ASUS, ACER, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire, and XFX. You can check out some of the designs below:
