ACER Predator Gaming Monitor Lineup For 2024 Features Mini-LED & OLED DUO, 57-Inch Ultra-Wide Z57 For $2499

ACER has unveiled several new Mini-LED & OLED gaming monitors including the $2499 US Z57 Ultra-wide 57-inch.
Acer has decided to make a dominant entry into the markets ahead of CES 2024, with its new releases of gaming monitors, however, the Predator Z57 stands out amongst them all, mainly due to its gigantic looks and the onboard features. Diving into the specifications, this mammoth monitor comes with a 57-inch ultrawide screen with a Dual UHD resolution of 7680 x 2160 pixels. The curved panel comes with a curvature rating of 1000R with a 32:9 aspect ratio as well. The peak panel brightness is rated at 1000 nits, making it suitable enough to be viewed in any sort of environment.
The monitor comes with an impressive Mini-LED display that features 2,304 local dimming zones to ensure the best quality output since the panel isn't a small one. Moreover, the Predator Z57 comes with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which is certainly lower than industry counterparts, however, the figure is optimal for a consumer who desires a display of this type, since the resolution the monitor holds is impressive in itself. The monitor is all about maintaining a high-quality display throughout its use which is why it comes with VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification, and to top it all off, DCI-P3 98% color gamut rating will make the display much more vivid.
In terms of onboard connectivity, the Predator Z57 comes with HDMI 2.1 connectivity, allowing the device to be connected with any current-gen consoles, although running the Z57 with a console is a questionable choice. Moreover, the display features a USB Type-C connection as well, with a 90W power delivery rating to make external connectivity a viable option. The Predator Z57 is indeed a great release, not just for the companies but in the markets as well, since we haven't seen much competition in this particular segment of gaming monitors, apart from releases by Samsung.
Acer didn't just stop here, since the firm believes in having a diverse product portfolio, which is why they have prepared three different SKUs as well for the markets. Starting with the Acer Predator X34 V3, it yet again boasts a Mini-LED panel but the form factor is much smaller this time. The monitor comes with a 34-inch ultrawide panel with an aspect ratio of 21:9, along with a maximum resolution of 3,440 x 1440 pixels. Moreover, the device comes with a refresh rate of 180 Hz, along with a 94% DCI-P3 color gamut rating as well. Onboard connectivity options in the Acer Predator X34 V3 include HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 ports.
Apart from Mini-LED models, Acer has also unveiled new models in its OLED lineup of gaming monitors, the Predator X39 and the Predator X34 X. Both models are very similar in specifications, however, the common difference is screen size, since the Predator X39 comes with a 39-inch panel, while the Predator X34 X features a 34-inch one. Both variants come with a blazing-fast 240 Hz refresh rate with a response time of 0.01 ms, the industry's lowest. The monitors come with a UWQHD resolution with a peak panel brightness of 450 nits. Connectivity options include HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB-C ports.
Now the decisive factor comes which is the pricing of the monitors. Acer's flagship Predator Z57 is expected to retail with a "whopping" $2,500 price tag, which isn't surprising considering other models within this particular segment. The Acer Predator X34 V3 is expected to retail at $899, the cheapest in the 2024 models, while the Predator X39 and the Predator X34 X will go for $1,499 and $1,299 respectively.
