Samsung passing NVIDIA's qualification tests for its HBM3E memory now looks imminent, as industry sources quote major breakthrough.

Samsung's journey with its HBM products is quite extensive since the firm has been battling in the markets to witness client adoption from the likes of NVIDIA and AMD. While with Team Red, the Korean giant was successful in integrating its memory products, Samsung had to go through several roadblocks with NVIDIA. Initial reports suggested that Samsung's HBM3E memory modules were a victim of failures, but this was later refuted by NVIDIA's CEO himself, claiming that work is still pending.

However, according to Bloomberg, Samsung has managed to achieve the qualification targets with its HBM products. Industry sources report that Samsung has already achieved qualification success with its HBM3 process, with HBM3E in line as well. Samsung is expecting to see approval in the next two to three months for HBM3E, which means that Team Green and the Korean giant are ready to partner up, firing up production cylinders to achieve a gigantic supply, catering to the tremendous demand that is expected to arrive with NVIDIA's next-gen Blackwell products.

Bloomberg says that it's unusual to see the Korean giant in such a situation, claiming that the firm was ahead in the memory division for several years now, but with the advent of the "HBM hype," Samsung went a step back, as competitors such as SK hynix stepped up the race, collaborating with NVIDIA immediately, hence capitalizing on the hype early on. However, with Samsung getting the green light from NVIDIA, it looks like the Korean giant will see a massive comeback.

In terms of growth, the HBM industry is set to witness a significant boost in market capitalization, growing up to as high as $71 billion in 2027, according to Morgan Stanley. With this, it's safe to say that the future of Samsung's memory division looks bright, and by Samsung becoming a mainstream supplier of NVIDIA, things are expected to become a whole lot more competitive.

For NVIDIA, well, they have a "behemoth" supplier on hand, which not only has one of the biggest production capacities but also room for expansion, ensuring that NVIDIA doesn't run out of capacity for future architectures.
