Samsung finally announces the global release of its highly anticipated Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor after it was unveiled six months before at CES 2023.

Diving into the specifications, the OLED G9 is one of a kind gaming monitor featuring a 49-inch Dual QHD display with a maximum resolution of 5,120 x 1,440. The monitor has a curve panel at 1800R curvature and an ultrawide 32:9 aspect ratio. To enhance your gaming experience, the monitor features a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time, which makes it well ahead of its competitors.

The OLED G9 also features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support, providing optimal performance and a smooth gaming experience. It comes with VESA’s DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and HDR10+ rating. The OLED G9 is a complete package, offering features suitable for hardcore gamers and professionals.

The monitor comes with Samsung's latest Neo Quantum Processor Pro chip. Here is how Samsung describes the capabilities of the processor:

The Neo Quantum Processor Pro addition sets the Odyssey OLED G9 apart from other OLED gaming monitors. Using a deep learning algorithm, it intelligently analyzes images and automatically upscales to adjust brightness while amplifying contrast. This enables the monitor to restore each detail and deliver the most brilliant images, pixel by pixel.

Samsung's OLED G9 features the newly introduced Samsung Gaming Hub. This feature will provide consumers access to all mainstream content without needing an external connection (such as to a PC or a mobile). The Samsung Gaming Hub supports Xbox Game Pass and NVIDIA GeForce Now, allowing users complete access to cloud gaming.

Samsung's Odyssey series has always stood out for its stunning designs, and the OLED G9 is no exception. The monitor features a centric RGB option at the back with support for CoreSync and Core Lighting+, allowing consumers to sync the RGB lightning with the colors on the screen. The OLED G9 comes with the traditional white and subtle black color scheme within a sleek metal frame. The monitor supports an HDMI 2.1 port, a Micro HDMI 2.1 port, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a series of USB 3.0 ports. It also comes with a height-adjustable stand and support for a VESA mount.

Samsung hasn't revealed the pricing for the OLED G9 in the United States. However, it is available for preorder, and the company is offering a $50 discount and a $250 gift card upon reserving the OLED G9.  The OLED G9 is expected to come in two variants: the G95SC model and the G93SC, which won't feature Samsung Gaming Hub or smart TV features.

The Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) will be available globally by June 12th, and the G93SC variant is expected to retail by Q3 2023.
