OneXGPU 2 eGPU To Feature AMD’s Brand New Radeon RX 7800M “RDNA 3” GPU

OneXPlayer has just announced its brand new eGPU solution, the OneXGPU 2, featuring AMD's Radeon RX 7800M "RDNA 3" GPU.
Last year, OneXPlayer launched its OneXGPU eGPU solution which is one of the many to feature AMD's Radeon RX 7600M XT GPU. This eGPU solution is unique in the sense that it comes with a stylish enclosure that includes active-fan cooling and RGB LEDs to light up the display. The eGPU solution also comes with PCIe M.2 SSD support and includes several I/O capabilities such as the very useful OCULINK port alongside HDMI, DP, USB (Type-A + Type-C) ports, and a LAN port.
More recently, OneXPlayer introduced the M1 Mini PC which comes equipped with an Intel Core Ultra "Meteor Lake" CPU and offers some really powerful specifications for a portable system that you can fit in your backpack and only weighs around 500 grams.
Now, OneXPlayer is teasing its latest eGPU solution, the OneXGPU 2, which will be equipped with AMD's Radeon RX 7800M "RDNA 3" GPU. No details are provided on the specifications of this eGPU but it looks like we might be looking at the first Navi 32 solution for the mobile segment. Currently, AMD offers its RDNA 3 mobility lineup in several Navi 33 SKUs and just one Navi 31 SKU. The lineup includes the Radeon RX 7900M, RX 7600M XT, RX 7600M, RX 7700S & RX 7600S.
The Radeon RX 7900M is the most entry-level Navi 31 GPU with 4608 cores. These are more cores than the desktop Radeon RX 7800 XT but less cores than the RX 7900 GRE. The Radeon RX 7700 XT is the minimum configuration of the Navi 32 GPU that we have seen so far so it might be possible that we see a core count somewhere in the same ballpark. The Radeon RX 7900M did retain the 6 MCDs from the top Navi 31 dies so we might also see a similar 256-bit and four MCD configuration for the AMD Radeon RX 7800M GPU.
It will definitely be a nice and long-awaited decision to bring the Radeon RX 7800M "RDNA 3" GPUs to market since the company has really been lacking on the laptop front with just a handful of PCs featuring AMD's Radeon RX 7000M chips while the vast majority utilizes NVIDIA's RTX GPUs.
An AMD Radeon RX 7800M could prove to be a good mid-tier solution which if priced right could end up being a strong offering for gaming laptops. OneXPlayer hasn't announced the pricing or launch date of the OneXGPU 2 eGPU solution but it should be launching later this quarter.
