NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang is planning to visit Taiwan to attend the Intelligent Asia 2024 "automation-focused" event.

The hype around "humanoid" robots is pretty massive these days, given that firms like NVIDIA have shown huge optimism about the growth of this particular segment. Just recently, we talked about how the automation market is moving towards a valuation of $50 trillion, and in the midst of it, Team Green is here to yet again capitalize on a fair share of the revenue simply because the company is ahead of the curve.

Taiwan Economic Daily reports that Jensen Huang himself plans to visit Taiwan to attend the Intelligent Asia 2024 event, which is set to be held on 21 August and will likely show us what the next generation of automation looks like. While we are unaware of whether Team Green will present any announcement at the event itself, it's safe to say that with the presence of Jensen Huang at the venue, the Intelligent Asia 2024 is surely going to be highly anticipated among enthusiasts.

If we look at NVIDIA's venture into the robotics segment, the firm's "Project GR00T" is one of the most optimistic projects, which is a general-purpose foundation model for humanoid robots. It is like an LLM model but to train robots that can understand and respond to their environment in a human-like way. The foundation model will allow robotic interfaces to "understand natural language and emulate movements by observing human actions," according to NVIDIA.

The firm plans to power its foundation model with the Jetson Thor SoC, which is based on the Blackwell architecture and delivers 800 teraflops of 8-bit floating point AI performance. Hence, it's certain that the robotics segment will only boom from hereon, and this has already been reflected in the Taiwanese stock market. Domestic companies such as Solomon have seen a massive boost in stock pricing, showing that the market is indeed anticipating growth in this segment, and we are still early on.

It would be interesting to see whether NVIDIA announces something at Intelligent Asia 2024, given that Jensen will be there, so we are expected to see a surprise. Given the close attachment NVIDIA has made with Taiwan companies, we do see the country playing a massive role in the tech giant's future.
