NVIDIA's AI GPU supply has finally improved, as its primary customer, Dell, reports significantly reduced AI server delivery times.

We all know how the AI GPU shortage took the industry by storm since 2023 was the year AI started to boom, which resulted in explosive demand but limited supply. This prompted supply chain disruptions, which caused companies like NVIDIA to face huge order backlogs, which led to a massive increase in delivery times. However, the General Manager of Dell Taiwan has shown tremendous optimism towards the future supply, claiming that the firm has witnessed a 50% decline in delivery times of its AI servers, credits to the improved situation, going from 40 weeks down to just 8-12 weeks.

Taiwan Economic Daily reports that Dell's official has disclosed that the company is experiencing massive demand for its AI servers. As a result, involved partners such as Wistron and LITE-ON have gained huge revenue simply due to the gigantic order flow. Dell has managed to occupy 24.5% of the mainstream AI server market share, and they don't look to stop just yet, as the official believes that Dell will emerge as a leading company in this segment.

Speaking of the reason behind the delivery times, the official disclosed that NVIDIA has witnessed massive improvements recently, credited to the firm's efforts in diversifying its supply chain by adding new partners, especially for its packaging production. Moreover, existing suppliers like TSMC have massively upscaled their production capacities. Through such cumulative efforts, the supply has become much more robust, which has resulted in overall positive growth in the AI markets.

The flaws in NVIDIA's supply chain during the initial times did result in the company not capitalizing on the hype the right way, but now it seems like Team Green has come along far from the problem. With the release of future architectures like Blackwell, we are going to witness a much better situation, hopefully.
