NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 & RTX 4060 Graphics Cards Expected To Launch In Q2 2023

New reports and leaks seem to hint at NVIDIA launching its GeForce RTX 4070 & RTX 4060 graphics cards in the second quarter of 2023.
NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 are going to be the Ada mainstream graphics cards that will bring the pricing close to $500 US with the RTX 4060 certainly being well below it. The GeForce RTX 4070 is said to launch in April whereas the RTX 4060 should also launch the same quarter but few weeks apart.
So first up, we have Videocardz reporting that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is going to hit on-shelf availability by April of 2023. We can't say for sure if NVIDIA would just unveil and launch the card on the same day. The RTX 4070 Ti was announced just 2 days prior to its retail launch so that may also be the case for the upcoming graphics card with a smaller announce-to-unveil window. So we are going to wait two more months before we get to see the mainstream cards in action.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics Card "Rumored" Specifications
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is expected to feature the AD104-250/251 GPU core. The GPU will feature 5888 CUDA cores, and 12 GB GDDR6X VRAM clocked at 21 Gbps, There seem to be three PCB boards designed for the GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards, two of which we had pointed out last month and another one has been revealed by Kopite7kimi. Two of these are for the reference cards while one is for the Founders Edition as listed below:
The graphics card is expected to feature a 200W TGP which featured a 220W TGP so you're getting a 10% reduction in power. Also, another interesting thing to note is that the GeForce RTX 4070 core config is very similar to the RTX 3070 which also features 5888 cores but the successor houses the Ada GPU core which should not only bring extra performance but also higher efficiency. The card is also reportedly clocked at 1920 MHz base and 2475 MHz boost clocks which gives it just around 30 TFLOPs of compute power.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Graphics Card "Rumored" Specifications
The GeForce RTX 4060 is expected to utilize the AD106-350-A1 GPU core, a cut-down version of the full AD106 graphics chip, and based on rumors, it should pack 34 SMs or 4352 CUDA cores, an 8 GB GDDR6 memory running at 18 Gbps across a 128-bit bus interface, providing the card with 288 GB/s of bandwidth. There's also 32 MB of L2 cache on board the GPU which is an 8x increase over the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.
Just like the RTX 4070, the RTX 4060 will still make use of the PCIe Gen5 12VHPWR connector since NVIDIA wants to standardize it across the entire lineup. The graphics card will also feature compact PCB designs in both reference and non-reference flavors. We know that the reference board is known as the PG190 SKU 361. The card is expected to run at 160W TGP which would be 20% lower than its predecessor, the RTX 3060 Ti.
