NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Custom Graphics Card Lineup From MSI Leaks Out

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card custom lineup from MSI which is expected to hit shelves next month has been leaked at EEC.

As listed over at the Eurasian Economic Commission or EEC, MSI is working on a range of custom models for NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card. The custom lineup is expected to include SUPRIM, Gaming, and Ventus variants. What's interesting is that the Ventus lineup features both triple-fan and dual-fan designs. Following is the full list of custom models from the AIB:

  • RTX 4070 VENTUS 3X 12G
  • RTX 4070 VENTUS 2X 12G OC
  • RTX 4070 VENTUS 3X 12G OC
  • RTX 4070 VENTUS 2X 12G
  • RTX 4070 GAMING X TRIO 12G
  • RTX 4070 GAMING TRIO 12G
  • RTX 4070 SUPRIM X 12G
  • RTX 4070 SUPRIM 12G
  • While we have seen the majority of these custom models on the other RTX 40 series cards by MSI, the Ventus 2X variants are going to be interesting because we have yet to see the design in a more compact housing featuring two fans. The GeForce RTX 4070 series graphics cards are going to use an even more compact PCB design that will allow AIBs to design smaller cards and the lower TGP of close to 200W also helps the card in this case.

In addition to the MSI models, @Harukaze5719 has also discovered a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Eagle OC listing at the Korean RRA.

AIBs will also have the freedom to select between the 16-pin 12VHPWR connector and standard 8-pin connectors for the card as seen in a leaked variant from last week. MSI may go with standard power plugs on the entry-level variants that don't require the extra power while the high-end SKUs such as the SUPRIM X and Gaming X might feature 16-pin connectors since they come with factory overclocks out of the box.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics Card "Rumored" Specifications

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is expected to feature the AD104-250/251 GPU core. The GPU will feature 5888 CUDA cores, and 12 GB GDDR6X VRAM clocked at 21 Gbps, There seem to be three PCB boards designed for the GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards, two of which we had pointed out last month and another one has been revealed by Kopite7kimi. Two of these are for the reference cards while one is for the Founders Edition as listed below:

  • PG141-SKU343 RTX 4070 Reference Edition AD104-250-A1
  • PG141-SKU344 RTX 4070 Founders Edition AD104-250-A1
  • PG141-SKU345 RTX 4070 Reference Edition AD104-251-A1
  • Following is a comparison of all the known Ada GPU dies for desktop graphics cards. (Credits to MEGAsizeGPU/TechpowerUP GPU Database for the AD102/AD103/AD104 die shots).

The graphics card is expected to feature a 200W TGP which featured a 220W TGP so you're getting a 10% reduction in power. Also, another interesting thing to note is that the GeForce RTX 4070 core config is very similar to the RTX 3070 which also features 5888 cores but the successor houses the Ada GPU core which should not only bring extra performance but also higher efficiency. The card is also reportedly clocked at 1920 MHz base and 2475 MHz boost clocks which gives it just around 30 TFLOPs of compute power.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card is expected to launch on the 13th of April with reviews for the FE variant landing a day earlier followed by custom AIC reviews on launch day.
