NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 SUPER GPUs Reign Supreme In Korean DIY Market, RTX 4070 “SUPER” Popular Among Gamers

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 SUPER GPUs seem to be a success as the likes of the RTX 4070 SUPER have seen strong sales in Korean DIY markets.
Since the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Super cards entered the market, the original Non-Super cards started to lose traction in most parts of the world. This is because the Super cards were priced almost at the same MSRP as the non-Super editions while bringing more performance to the table. Even in the Korean DIY market, the Ada Super cards are showing their dominance by capturing a solid GPU share.
As per Danawa's research, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Super graphics cards took over the non-Super editions by nearly 100%. Some GPUs like the RTX 4080 have almost disappeared from the market. The RTX 4080 was launched at $1200 and was a very poorly priced GPU in the series. As soon as NVIDIA decided to launch the RTX 4080 Super for $200 less, the 4080 Super quickly gained over 4% of GPU sales, currently sitting at a share of 4.55% as per July stats. On the other hand, the RTX 4080 remains at almost 0% and didn't exceed 0.08% in most months share except in January in the first half of 2024. This is because the RTX 4080 Non-SUPER was replaced by the SUPER variants.
The more popular GPUs such as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super and 4070 Ti Super saw much higher sales in the first 7 months. The RTX 4070 Super has the highest share in the market with mostly over 12.73% share in the last 5 months. While the RTX 4070's share has plummeted to just 1.91% from 7.24% in January. The RTX 4070 Ti Super is also selling quite convincingly, currently at 6.5% share as per July's sales stats from just 0.58% in January.
The RTX 4070 Ti plummeted to just 0.08% but that's also because the GPU was replaced by the Super variant. The RTX 4070 Non-Ti & Non-SUPER model still exists in the market but reports of an ongoing shortage due to GDDR6X DRAM supply may indicate the lower sales. NVIDIA is rumored to be preparing a GDDR6 variant of the card that might once again pick up its sales but it must be priced attractive.
Pricing has affected the sales significantly as NVIDIA decided to launch the RTX 4070 Super for just $50 higher than the non-Super edition while offering roughly 20% better performance. The RTX 4070 Super currently sells at an average price of 944,230 won, which is roughly 30,000 won less than its MSRP in January. Similarly, other Super editions saw a drop in prices in the first half of 2024 every month, leading to more sales.
When we check the stats for the most-selling editions of these GPUs, Gigabyte comes out at the top for the RTX 4070 Super with a share of 35.91% followed by EMTek with 22.39% and MSI GPUs with 18.57%. For the RTX 4070 Ti Super, EMTech, MSI, and Galaxy were close to each other but for the RTX 4080 Super, EMTech was the favorite brand users were opting for, having a share of over 30%.
