NVIDIA Compares GeForce RTX 4070 With RTX 3060 & GTX 1060 In Counter Strike 2 Reflex Latency Benchmark

NVIDIA has compared the reflex latency performance of its upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 with older RTX 3060 & GTX 1060 GPUs in Counter-Strike 2.
As spotted by The Verge, NVIDIA is bringing its Reflex technology which helps with lowering latency in a wide range of games, especially eSports titles, to Counter-Strike 2. Announced just a few days ago, Valve's Counter-Strike 2 took the internet by storm, unveiling some innovative new techniques such as dynamic smoke & sub-tick responsiveness that players of the iconic FPS shooter are going to experience when it launches.
Since the game is all about being responsive, having technologies such as NVIDIA's Reflex is a must and NVIDIA has shared some new latency benchmarks showcasing how their tech helps make the gaming experience in Counter-Strike 2 much better. We have improvements anywhere from 20% to 70% with the Reflex mode enabled.
What's interesting is that the Reflex Mode provides results that are much better on older GPUs. For example, with an RTX 4070, you are getting a sold reduction of 20% (8 ms vs 10 ms) but moving down to an older GPU such as the RTX 3060, you can get up to 32 percent reduction (11 ms vs 16 ms). Even the GTX 1060 is used in comparisons which shows a huge 35% reduction (17 ms vs 26 ms).

This goes off to show just how important having NVIDIA's Reflex technology is in games such as Counter Strike 2. What's more important is the comparison that's been made here. NVIDIA is not only using an unreleased graphics card such as the GeForce RTX 4070 but it is being compared to cards in different tiers such as the RTX 3060 and GTX 1060.
It is possible that NVIDIA made this comparison because the RTX 4060 doesn't exist yet and RTX 3060 / GTX 1060 are the most popular GPUs on the market so they needed something from the 40 series to compare with these two. The RTX 3060 is currently the most popular GPU on Steam at the moment.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics Card Specifications
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is expected to feature the AD104-250/251 GPU core. The GPU will feature 5888 CUDA cores, and 12 GB GDDR6X VRAM clocked at 21 Gbps, driving the bandwidth up to 504 GB/s (a 12.5% increase over the RTX 3070), The GPU gets 36 MB L2 cache which is 9x higher than the RTX 3070's GA104 GPU.
The graphics card is expected to feature a 200W TGP so you're getting an 8% reduction in power compared to the RTX 3070. The slide also lists down average gaming power which is rated at 186 Watts or 13.5% lower than the RTX 3070 and 22.5% lower than the RTX 3070 Ti. This is in fact the same power consumption as the NVIDIA RTX 3060 while the card should deliver performance on par or faster than the RTX 3080 12 GB which consumed anywhere between 300-320W. That's a massive increase in efficiency.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card is expected to launch on the 13th of April with reviews for the FE variant landing a day earlier followed by custom AIC reviews on launch day. The graphics card will retail at an official MSRP of $599 US though certain custom models with factory overclocks and better cooling designs will come at a slight premium.
