Japan has positioned itself in a key place when it comes to promoting "in-house" semiconductor developments. Being a vital regional ally to the United States, not only have the governments poured huge sums of money into the semiconductor industry, but the country has progressed rapidly in R&D, resulting in an interest globally. Companies like TSMC and ASML are already set to establish multiple manufacturing facilities in the region, which has made Japan an emerging semiconductor leader.
