MSI Unveils Massive 49″ MPG 491CQPX Dual-QHD Ultra-Wide & QD-OLED Gaming Monitor, Priced at $1199

MSI MPG 491CQPX QD-OLED gaming monitor features a 5120x1440p resolution & a curved display for a great immersive gaming experience.

MSI today unveiled a new high-end gaming monitor in the MPG lineup, featuring premium hardware and specifications for gaming enthusiasts. The new monitor is the MPG 491CQPX, bringing a 49-inch screen size and boasting a QD-OLED display for great visuals and fast response. The monitor is a super ultrawide monitor with a wide field of view and runs at a high refresh rate of 240Hz.

The resolution of the MSI MPG 491CQPX is rated at 5120x1440p, which is equivalent to two QHD resolutions, providing more details on the screen that can immerse gamers into the open world and car racing games. The monitor uses a next-gen QD-OLED panel for precise pixel lighting control and reproducing true blacks. The contrast ratio is, therefore, 1,500,000:1, ensuring vivid images and a wonderful viewing experience.

The new QD-OLED panels are all equipped with Graphene film, known for its exceptional thermal conductivity for heat dissipation, and a customized heatsink design. The synergy between these two elements enables the entire monitor to operate without an active cooling fan, achieving a fan-less design. This ensures efficient and silent heat dispersion, further extending the panel's lifespan.

In addition to the original protection methods like Pixel Shift, Panel Protect, and Static Screen Detection, OLED CARE 2.0 version adds Multi Logo Detection, Taskbar Detection, and Boundary Detection to provide enhanced care services and significantly reduce the chances of OLED screen burn-in.

Built-in USB Type-C connection with 98W power delivery allows you to effortlessly connect to and charge your devices. 

With a response time of just 0.03ms GtG, the monitor can quickly transition the frames without introducing any ghosting, making it perfect for fast-paced games. On top of that, the 240Hz refresh rate will provide smooth movements on the screen for fluid and pleasant gameplay. The screen is slightly curved with a curvature of 1800R, making it suitable for playing from a distance, and supports DisplayHDR 400 for vivid details.

HDR support isn't the only thing available to enhance the details, the monitor also comes with AI Vision that shows details even in darker areas. Also, users can enable the Crosshair for a simple aim assist and can change the color anytime from the OSD menu. The KVM support further helps users to switch to different devices easily, which increases productivity immensely.

Equipped with MSI OLED Care 2.0 technology, the newly added protection features include Multi-logo detection, Taskbar detection, and Boundary detection. The OLED Care already has enough protective features for the OLED display, which includes Pixel Shift, Panel Protect, and Static Screen detection to protect the monitor from image burn-in.

Since the monitor is quite big, it needs a good passive cooling solution, which MSI has taken care of through a custom heat sink and Graphene film. The heat sink not only has great thermal conductivity but is also fan-less, making the operation completely silent. Lastly, the 491CQPX provides various connectivity options at the back along with a 98W Type C power delivery port for quickly charging your mobile devices.

The MPG 491CQPX is priced at US$1199.99 and will be officially launched for sale on the 10th of October, 2024.
