Minisforum Unveils Upgraded B550 Pro Mini PC: 300mm Dual-Slot Discrete GPU Support, Up To AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D

Minisforum has unveiled its brand new and upgraded B550 Pro Mini PC which comes with discrete dual-slot GPU support.
Minisforum's latest design is an upgraded version of its previous B550 Mini PC which was placed in the Uranus family. The latest version expands the Mini PC by adding a secondary enclosure that is able to mount dual-slot discrete GPUs with up to 300mm length through a PCIe 3.0 x16 link that is in addition to the PCIe 3.0 x4 slot which is also present and can be used to house a single-slot AIC.
As for the rest of the specifications, the AMD B550 motherboard featured on the B550 Pro Mini PC can host up to a Ryzen 7 5800X / 5800X3D CPU. It comes in both barebone and pre-installed types so users can decide if they want to choose something else but it should be an AM4 chip.
Power is provided through an SFX PSU which is a Silverstone SFX 650W unit (pre-installed variant). Users who want the barebone kit will be open to select from any SFX units that meet the dimensions of the chassis. The standalone DC power supply is also there in case you aren't running a discrete GPU.
Technically, you can get a higher-end chip but it should be noted that Minisforum recommends a Ryzen 7 5800X/X3D chip. Something like a lower-wattage Ryzen 9 5900 or Embedded CPU can also work fine with the Minisforum B550 Pro Mini PC. As for GPU options, the chassis can hold just dual-slot designs so which limits it up to the RTX 4070 Ti. Those wanting to plug in an RTX 4090 or a 4080 will have to wait for a newer design.
In terms of I/O, the Minisforum B550M Pro Mini PC features 1 USB-C, 7 USB-A, 1 HDMI, 1 DP, 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, and 1 headset microphone jack. The B550 PRO is an innovative and mature product that builds on the success of its predecessor. It offers improved CPU compatibility and motherboard stability and boasts increased USB interfaces and expansion slots.
The device's overall structure has also been optimized for a more reasonable and user-friendly design, making it easier to install and use. With a sleek and modern appearance, the B550 PRO is not only powerful but also easy on the eyes. And with the included small bag, you can take your device with you wherever you go, making it perfect for a variety of operations at any time and in any place.
The Mini PC is currently available only in China with a price of 1799 RMB (1699 RMB promo right now). Expect availability in US and EU markets in the coming days.
