Loongson’s 3A6000 CPU Debuts In Morefine Mini-PC, i3-10100 Performance At $390 For China

Loongson, the famous Chinese CPU manufacturer, has seen one of its latest 3A6000 CPU integrated into a mini-PC, making it the first of its kind.
Loongson has been steadily working to improve its CPU architectures for quite some time now. While the company did witness some success in its lineup, we didn't see them get integrated into mainstream consumer products, except for cases when their CPUs were paired up in relatively entry-level combos.
However, Loongson has finally seen its 3A6000 processor debuting in a mini-PC from none other than the reputable company Morefine. The firm's latest M700S mini-PC coming with Loongson's CPU means that we might see similar instances moving ahead, given that the product succeeds in the markets.
Speaking of the M700S, the mini-PC features a sleek blackish design. It is compact at 149 x 145 x 50 mm and weighs just 812g, hence taking portability to a whole new level. Moreover, the device supports dual-channel DDR4-3200 memory, one M.2 PCIe Gen 3.0 slot, and a 2.5-inch hard-drive enclosure, providing ample room for consumers. In other details, the unit supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5 and comes with plenty of USB and display ports, hence not lacking anything in the department of performance and connectivity.
Now, moving on to the performance of Loongson's 3A6000, the CPU features a quad-core design (4C/8T) and an operating frequency of 2.5 GHz (peak). The CPU uses a 4th Generation Dragon architecture, which integrates LA664 cores. Moreover, in a recent benchmarking, it was found that the 3A6000 dominated Intel's Core i3-10100 and came head-to-head with the Core i5-14600K in a clock-to-clock test., which shows that Loongson has been working hard to bring its CPUs on par with the latest from AMD & Intel. The x86 counterparts still lead in overall performance and chip efficiency.
Morefine's M700S mini-PC is retailing for 2,799 yuan at the Chinese marketplace JD.com, which is equivalent to around $390, which is slightly in the higher range considering that Loongson isn't very reputable in the domain of compact PCs, but it will be interesting to see how the M700S performs in the markets.
