LG’s 40-Inch Ultrawide Curved Display Offers Nano IPS Panel With 5K2K Resolution For €1339

LG has announced its new Ultrawide curved screen display (40WP95CP-W) measuring 40-inches wide and a screen resolution of 5120 x 2160 px (21:9 aspect ratio), along with support for reduced power consumption & next-gen connectivity, selling for an MSRP of 1339 EUR.
The LG 40WP95CP-W Ultrawide display is designed with a Nano IPS panel, offering a pixel density of 139 PPI. It provides a rich color depth of 10 bits and 1.07 billion colors, a 98% PCI-P3 color gamut, and 300 nits of peak brightness. The max contrast ratio on the LG 40WP95CP-W is 1000:1 with a curvature rating of 2500R but lacks outstanding refresh rates by only offering as high as 72 Hz and response times of 5ms.
The 40WP95CP-W from LG supports AMD FreeSync but does not support NVIDIA G-Sync. It offers a black stabilizer, dynamic action sync and is factory calibrated for color. Users can still calibrate the color and brightness at home and enjoy both flicker-safe and low blue light emissions with the help of the company's Live Color Low Blue Light with TUV Rheinland Eyesafe Display certification to save their eyesight for longer gaming sessions.
Additionally, the LG 40WP95CP-W supports Auto Brightness with Ambient Light Sensor. The display also allows for picture-by-picture (PBP) modality but not picture-in-picture (PIP) modes. For the connectivity, the LG 40WP95CP-W offers a single DisplayPort 1.4, dual HDMI 2.0 ports, a single Thunderbolt 4 port, two USB Type-A ports, and a USB-C port that can support PowerDelivery of 96 W output.
The display measures (with stand) 947.2 x 614.7 x 283 mm at its highest point and weighs 12.3 kg. LG's 40WP95CP-W has a height and tilt adjusting stand with a speaker integration underneath the screen that houses two 10 W speakers with Rich Bass to immerse more gamers into the games they play. Compared to LG's previous 40WP95C Ultrawide display, the power consumption is reduced, with the new model offering a decrease in power to between 60 to 80 W.
LG did not just design the 40WP95CP-W for gaming but also designed it for video editing and content creation. Ultrawide displays are great for those looking for plenty of screen space for multiple application windows open, increasing productivity. The price is set to 1339 EUR (estimated at 1471 USD). OCUK has the display listed for 1498.99 Pounds.
