Lexar unveiled a range of new products at CES 2024 including its ARES RGB DDR5 memory and the NM1090 Gen5 SSDs, pushing both standards to their peak performance.

Lexar has a huge range of memory and flash products within its portfolio so let's start off with the latest DDR5 memory modules. The company offers two series, the ARES and the THOR. The THOR series can be seen as the more budget and mainstream-friendly designs with a heat spreader and speeds of up to 6000 MT/s in 32 GB capacities.

Then there's the ARES RGB series which is designed for enthusiasts and overclockers with a more high-end heatspreader and an RGB diffuser on the top to expand its aesthetics. These modules run at speeds from 5600 MT/s all the way up to 8400 MT/s. They are XMP 3.0 and EXPO compliant & come in both 32 GB and 48 GB capacities. The 48 GB (2x 24 GB) kits will only come in 8000 MT/s & 8400 MT/s speeds.

Moving over to the SSD segment, Lexar is now offering its brand new Gen5 SSDs known as the Professional NM1090 M.2 which comes with a unique heatsink design with an active-cooling fan placed in the middle. This blazing-fast Gen5 SSD comes in 1 TB, 2 TB, and up to 4 TB capacities & offers read speeds of up to 12,000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 11,000 MB/s. There's 4 GB of onboard DRAM cache and you even get RGB lighting which is a great touch.

If you think Gen5 is a bit too much for you, then don't worry as Lexar is also offering its Gen4 SSDs with some impressive speeds of up to 7500 MB/s on the Professional NM800 PRO which comes in both heatsink and non-heatsink flavors or the NM790 which features 7400 MB/s speeds and also has heatsink and non-heatsink flavors. Given the hype around handheld consoles these days, the company also has its Play 2230 PCIe 4.0 SSD which offers up to 5200 MB/s Read and 4700 MB/s write speeds. Plus, the Play microSDXC UHS-1 card offers 160 MB/s read and 100 MB/s write tops and can be expanded with up to 1 TB capacities.

Besides the standard PC stuff, Lexar also offers a huge variety of memory cards in CFEXPRESS & SDHX/SDXC form factors. These come in Diamond, Gold, and Silver series, catering to all kinds of users. This is just a preview of things to come from Lexar so stay tuned for more action from them throughout 2024.
