Japanese Firm Releases New Limited Edition "Flower-Scented" Thermal Paste 1

Scented thermal pastes have become more prominent, with a Japanese vendor now releasing new products with somewhat questionable flavors.

Well, the idea of having scented thermal pastes is extraordinary, especially when you question their existence in the first place, but we won't go into that. A Japanese vendor going by the name of Clock Work Tea Party (CWTP) previously became famous for their "apple-scented" TIM (Thermal Interface Material), but now, the firm has introduced "EXTREMEGRIS," an osmanthus-flavored paste. Osmanthus is a highly popular flower in Japan and has a sweet scent that is often used in perfumes.

We don't have an exact idea regarding the thermal performance. Still, based on the information available, the thermal conductivity of the paste is on par with modern-day offerings, with excellent viscosity levels and durability. Here is how the company has detailed the features of its thermal paste:

Scented thermal pastes are an interesting product in itself, and it will be great to try out one to know why consumers opt for it in the first place. Regarding pricing, the EXTREMEGRIS paste is expected to retail for 2,280 yen or around US $15, which makes it more expensive than offerings like the ARCTIC MX-4 or even the Corsair TM30 despite having similar content volume. Right now, the product is "Sold Out" which makes sense given the limited edition nature of these products.

If you are really into "flower-inspired" scents, this might be your option, but you shouldn't expect much from it regarding hardcore performance. Imagine if someone tried extreme overclocking with this paste; it would be a sight to witness.
