Intel Meteor Lake & Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs continue to leak as we have more laptops showing up with Core Ultra 7 155H, 155U & i5-14500HX chips.

We all know that the generational improvement in performance expected within the upcoming Meteor Lake lineup is a big one, and the industry has set its sights on the debut of Intel's next-gen CPUs, which is expected in mid-December. We have seen various Meteor Lake CPUs leak online & this time, we are looking at ASUS's Zenbook 14 which includes the Core Ultra 7 155H chip. Besides that, there are also Core Ultra 7 155U and Core i5-14500HX chips that have been confirmed.

Starting with the specifications, the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H "Meteor Lake" CPU offers a total of 16 cores and 22 threads arranged in 6 P-Core, 8 E-Core, and 2 low-power E-Core configurations. The CPU operates with a base frequency of 3.80 GHz and a boost frequency of 4.80 GHz while offering up to 24 MB of L3 cache. The ASUS Zenbook 14 featured 32 GB of LPDDR5 memory but the exact speeds are not mentioned.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 155H managed to obtain a single-core score of 2422 points and a multi-core score of 12,563 points which is in line with the previous entries of the same chip. The small variance in performance could be due to different thermal/power limits and cooling designs which matter a lot in laptops. So far, we have seen the Core Ultra 7 155H leak out in various laptops which include:

  • ASUS Zenbook 14 (UX3405MA)
  • MSI Prestige 16 AI EVO B1MG
  • ACER Swift SFG14-72
  • Xiaomi Mi Laptop
  • HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 (16-aa0xx)
  • In addition to the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, the Core Ultra 7 155U which is a low-power variant with a TDP configured at 15W has also been revealed. This chip comes with a vastly reduced config which includes 14 cores and 12 MB of cache. Based on the specs, it looks like the chip entirely uses an E-Core configuration and offers a clock speed of 2.70 GHz which boosts up to 4.8 GHz. The CPU score also shows a rather underwhelming 1754 points in single-core and 5774 points in multi-core tests.

Besides the Intel Meteor Lake CPUs, the flagship Core i9-14900HX has also leaked out in Xiaomi's upcoming laptop lineup. This chip features 24 cores and 32 threads with up to 5.6 GHz clocks that make it the fastest-clocked laptop CPU to date.

Lastly, we have the Intel Core i5-14500HX which is going to be part of the 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh. This chip offers the same specs as the Core i5-13500HX with 14 cores, 20 threads, and 24 MB of L3 cache. Only the clock speeds have been bumped up which now operate at 2.8 GHz base and 4.9 GHz boost. This marks a 200 MHz boost over the 13500HX within the same 55W base and 157W (Maximum Turbo Power) TDPs. The chip was spotted in a Xiaomi "TM2211" laptop & is likely to be thermal throttled since the performance is below what the 13500HX offers with just 2207 in single-core and 8708 in multi-core points.

The Intel Meteor Lake "Core Ultra" CPUs are going to debut on the 14th of December with retail availability in the following week. We have seen retail listings of various laptops already such as MSI's Prestige lineup which you can check out here.
