Intel Core i9-14900K CPU Runs Counter Strike 2 At Over 1300 FPS With A 8 GHz Overclock

Intel's Core i9-14900K CPU has been overclocked to 8 GHz by TeamAU and posts over 1300 FPS in Counter Strike 2.
The experience of witnessing high-end overclocking is something that holds great interest in the enthusiast community, mainly since oftentimes, the performance squeezed out tends to break the figures established by previous world records. Similarly, at SXSW Sydney, Team AU Overclocking was able to harness the power of Intel's flagship 14th-generation "Raptor Lake Refresh" CPU, the Core i9-14900K, which led to crossing four digits in frame rates in the newly-released Counter Strike 2.
Achieving such performance isn't an easy task, and it requires "excessive" use of liquid nitrogen. To bump up the excitement behind the effort, Intel's VP and GM of Enthusiast PC and Workstation, Client Computing Group, Roger Chandler poured the first batch of liquid nitrogen into the test bench. The representation of Intel at the event is great to see since it not only shows the commitment of the company towards its overclocking community, but it is a method to "officially" recognize an achievement, and in this case the FPS milestone.
Team AU Overclocking utilized Intel's Core i9-14900K CPU, which natively comes with a 6 GHz turbo frequency, an achievement of its own. However, to squeeze out the maximum performance, the CPU was overclocked up to 8 GHz, which led to the output of 1310 FPS at CS2. One might argue that Counter-Strike 2 isn't a demanding title at all, but the game holds great compatibility with high FPS targets, which is why it takes the lead in game overclocking scenarios. CS2 holds the capacity to bear high clock speeds since the game is more "CPU dependant".
We previously reported a CPU frequency record for the Core i9-14900K which achieved a stellar 9.1 GHz. If we place that particular figure here, there might be a possibility that the FPS achieved might be higher than 1310 FPS, but this is by far the most stable overclocking gaming experience we will be getting at 8 GHz. The release of Raptor Lake Refresh holds great interest in the OC community, and it will be exciting to see what it brings to the overclocking community in the future.
