Intel Bartlett Lake-S Desktop CPUs Launching In 2025: Up To 8+16 Hybrid & Up To 12 P-Core Only Flavors

Intel's Bartlett Lake-S Desktop CPUs are reportedly launching in 2025 in hybrid and P-Core-only flavors with up to 12 P-Cores.

The Intel Bartlett Lake-S mystery seems to have been uncovered by @jaykihn who has now laid out the configurations of the various SKUs that will be featured within the family.

So what is Bartlett Lake-S? Well, if you have been following our previous reports, it was suggested that it would be a new CPU family for desktop platforms that would target Network & Edge first. The lineup is expected to launch on the same LGA 1700 socketed platforms that have been on the market for years and it looks like the lineup will be split into two configurations, a hybrid and a P-Core Only range.

Starting first with the P-Core Only variants, the Bartlett Lake-S Desktop CPUs will utilize a new BTL 12+0 die which features up to 12 P-Cores. Yep, you heard that right, there are only going to be P-Cores on this SKU and more than what we have seen on the existing 14th Gen family which tops out at 8 P-Cores. The lineup is suggested to cover 125W, 65W, and 45W segments with 12 P-Core Core 9, 10 P-Core Core 7, and 8 P-Core Core 5 SKUs.

The fact that a 125W CPU is mentioned might suggest that we might get to see a high-end consumer-oriented release for the DIY segment since the 125W TDP target is usually reserved for the unlocked "K-Series" Desktop CPUs. The Bartlett Lake P-Core-only family won't feature any Core 3 or Core series SKU.

Moving on, we have the hybrid Intel Bartlett Lake-S Desktop CPUs which will use a mix of Alder Lake and Raptor Lake dies. These chips will come in 65W and 45W flavors with 8+16 (B0) Core 7, 6+8 (B0) & 6+4 (C0) Core 5, 4+0 (H0) and 2+0 (H0) Core CPUs. The top CPU will max out at the same 24 cores and 32 threads that we have seen on the current flagship, the Core i9-13900K/14900K, and the rest of the CPUs will also match the 14th Gen die configurations that we have already seen on the market.

According to the leaker, the Intel Bartlett Lake-S Hybrid configurations are targeting an early January 2025 release window while the P-Core-only variants will target a Q3 2025 release window. The CPU launch is much later than the upcoming Arrow Lake-S Desktop lineup and it remains to be seen if these new P-Core only dies will address the instability issues that Intel is currently facing with its i9 13th Gen and 14th Gen chips.
