More of Intel's next-gen Arrow Lake-S "Desktop" & Arrow Lake-HX "Laptop" CPUs have been exposed in recent shipping manifestos.

We have previously covered several Intel Arrow Lake "Core Ultra 200" CPU samples which were spotted within shipping leaks and now we have a few more. This time, we are looking at 24, 20 & 14-core SKUs which should be powering a range of Desktop "Arrow Lake-S" & desktop "Arrow Lake-HX" laptop chips.

Following are the full range of chips that have leaked out:

  • Arrow Lake-S 24-Core (LGA 1851) - 3.6 GHz / 36 MB L3 Cache
  • Arrow Lake-S 14 -Core (LGA 1851) - 2.8 GHz / 24 MB L3 Cache
  • Arrow Lake-S 6-Core (LGA 1851) - 2.8 GHz / 18 MB L3 Cache
  • Arrow Lake-HX 16-Core (FCBGA) - 2.9 GHz / 30 MB L3 Cache
  • Arrow Lake-HX 14-Core (FCBGA) - 3.0 GHz / 24 MB L3 Cache
  • Coming to the details, the Intel Arrow Lake-S Desktop "Core Ultra 200" CPUs include a 24-core part with 36 MB L3 cache (8+16), a 14-core part with 24 MB L3 cache (6+8), and a 6-core part with 18 MB L3 cache (6+0). Meanwhile, on the laptop side, we have two Arrow Lake-HX SKUs which include a 16 core part with a 30 MB L3 cache (8+8) and a 14-core part with a 24 MB L3 cache (6+8). These CPUs are rated at up to 3.6 GHz which should be the preliminary base clocks and are not to be confused with final retail silicon.

Intel is expected to launch at least 13 SKUs under its Arrow Lake-S "Core Ultra 200" CPU line. These will include the top unlocked "K" series chips such as the Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K, and the Core Ultra 5 245K. These will be followed by the Non-K 65W and 35W CPU family. All chips will be compatible with the new LGA 1851 socketed motherboards under the 800-series platform.

Following is what we know about Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs so far:

  • LGA 1851 Socket Longevity Planned Uptill 2026
  • DDR5 Only Compatibility, No DDR4 Support
  • Kicks off With 800-Series Motherboards
  • Support For Up To DDR5-6400 Memory (Native JEDEC)
  • Increased PCIe Gen 5.0 Lanes Through CPU & PCH
  • Arrow Lake-S First Desktop Family Supported (DIY)
  • Arrow Lake-S CPUs feature 3 MB L2 Cache Per P-Core
  • Arrow Lake-S CPUs feature Alchemist iGPUs
  • Arrow Lake-S CPUs feature 8+16, 6+8 CPU SKUs
  • Arrow Lake-S 8+16 (24 Cores)
  • Arrow Lake-S 6+8 (14 Cores)
  • No Hyper-Threading Support(?)
  • Launching In 2H 2024
  • As for the launch, Intel's Arrow Lake-S "Core Ultra 200" Desktop CPUs will be introduced at Computex 2024 with a launch planned soon afterward. Meanwhile, the Intel Arrow Lake-HX family should debut by late 2024 and we will see proper retail availability in the first half of 2025.
