ADLINK has unveiled a new graphics card, incorporating Intel's Arc A380E GPU and a low-profile design for basic tasks.

The Embedded World 2024 conference witnessed several products targeting the embedding and compact computing segment, with the likes of AMD's Versal Gen 2 chip and Intel's Meteor Lake-PS lineup. However, ADLINK has decided to step in and integrate Intel's new low-profile Arc A380E into its EGX-PCIE-A380E professional graphics card, potentially exploring a new competitor for the low-power markets.

Before we go into ADLINK's new product, let's talk about Intel's Arc A380E. The GPU is based on the Alchemist architecture and features eight Xe-cores, 6GB GDDR6 memory, 128 EUs, and a rated TBP at 50W. Moreover, the chip comes with 128 XMX engines, catering to AI workloads significantly. The Arc A380E does look like an impressive option for low-power tasks in the modern day, and the inclusion of Intel's Matrix Engines makes it an attractive option for those looking to perform less intensively. AI workloads.

  • Intel Arc Alchemist Architecture
  • Low-profile and single-slot design
  • PCIe Gen 4 x8 interface
  • 6GB GDDR6 memory
  • 4 x mDP (Mini DisplayPort) output
  • Low Power Consumption: 50W
  • Supports OpenVINO, DirectX 12, Vulkan 1.3, OpenGL 4.6, and OpenCL 3.0
  • Now to ADLINK's GPU, the EGX-PCIE-A380E is compact at 69mm x 171mm and features a single-slot configuration, which you would expect with a low-profile product. Moreover, the GPU supports various market standards such as DirectX 12, Vulkan 1.3, OpenGL 4.6, and OpenCL 3.0, allowing a widespread option despite being an inferior option when you consider the power consumption. ADLINK's GPU has a PCIe 4.0 x 8 interface and 4 Mini-DP ports for onboard interfaces, making it ideal for professional environments.

ADLINK's EGX-PCIE-A380E is well-suited for industrial IoT workloads and edge AI use cases due to the onboard chip's AI performance, making it an excellent option for modern-day use cases. ADLINK hasn't revealed the price of its low-profile GPU yet, nor has the firm revealed a release date.
