Geekom Teases Next-Gen Mini PCs With Intel Core Ultra “Meteor Lake” & AMD Ryzen 8040 “Hawk Point” CPUs

Geekom has teased its 2024 Mini PCs lineup which will be powered by Intel's Core Ultra "Meteor Lake" & AMD's Ryzen 8040 "Hawk Point" CPUs.
We have tested various Mini PCs from Geekom throughout the last few years. The company has an outstanding variety of products to select from. The company has designs ranging from commercial PCs to gaming, HTPCs, and SFF designs. There's something for everyone and next year, we will see even more products in their portfolio.
At CES 2024, Geekom will be introducing its latest lineup which includes the IT14 Pro, powered by Intel's Core Ultra "Meteor Lake" CPUs, and the A8 Max/APro8 Max Mini PCs powered by the AMD Ryzen 8040 "Hawk Point" APUs. For several years, Intel has been trailing AMD in terms of graphics performance but with Meteor Lake, that has changed with the Arc Xe-LPG iGPU showcasing strong and competitive performance against AMD's RDNA 3 iGPUs. Furthermore, a big segment that both chipmakers are aiming these chips at is AI, & both vendors come close in terms of the AI compute capabilities offered by each chip.
So coming back to the Geekom lineup, the IT14 Pro will offer up to the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU with 16 cores, 22 threads, 24 MB cache, and up to 4.8 GHz clock speeds. The system will come with DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM memory support, dual Gen4 NVMe SSDs and offer up to a 20% performance boost over the Core i7-1360P in multi-threaded applications. The system will come in the standard box shape design which is commonly used by Mini PC manufacturers with a very nice white colored shroud in a 0.7 liter chassis.
On the AMD front, we will be looking at two designs, the A8 Max and the APro8 Max. The A8 Max is equipped with a choice of AMD Ryzen 9 8940HS or Ryzen 7 8740HS APU, featuring up to 8 cores, 16 threads, 16 MB cache, and 5.2 GHz clock speeds. These APUs come with the Radeon 780M (RDNA 3) i GPUs which are still very strong and have a strong driver ecosystem backing them too. These iGPUs have so far been the most popular choice for small form factor gaming PCs including hand-held consoles.
The higher-end Geekom APro8 Max will come in a larger package since it not only offers the fastest AMD Ryzen 9 8940H CPU but also comes with support for AMD's Radeon RX 7600M XT discrete GPU which should offer great gaming performance out of the box. There are not a whole lot of details available on the prices and specs of these latest Mini PCs at the moment but they will be showcased at CES 2024 so expect more info soon.
