GameMax Launches F36 & F46 PC Cases For Supporting Motherboards With Backside Connectors

GameMax has introduced its F46 mid-tower & F36 micro-ATX PC cases, which support backside connector motherboards.

The connector-less motherboard design is the new trend in PC building, helping users with a neat build where cables can disappear from the main area. Since many motherboard manufacturers introduced this design at Computex last year as well as CES 2024, it looks like the new design is becoming fan-favorite. But one problem that is keeping away these motherboards from regular buyers is their compatibility with most PC cases.

Motherboards with connectors at the back of the PCB need a different cutout layout in the motherboard tray of PC cases. This is to ensure that users can connect cables at the back. To solve this problem, GameMax has launched two new cases that will support the popular hidden-connector motherboards from various motherboard makers, including the ASUS BTF, MSI Project ZERO, and Gigabyte STEALTH.

The two new cases are the F46, featuring a regular ATX mid-tower form factor, and the F36 with a smaller micro-ATX form factor. Both cases are almost identical in their looks, features, and compatibility with the components except for their sizes. The F46 can accommodate bigger AIO coolers and more expansion cards but the rest is identical to the F36. The F46 measures 419(L) x 216(W) x 449(H)mm while the F36 is 388mm in height.

The cases provide a fully meshed front panel for good airflow and have pre-installed 4x ARGB fans(3 at the front, 1 at the rear) to ensure optimal cooling right from the start. Users can also install 2x 140mm fans at the front or replace the fans with 240mm/280mm AIO coolers on the F36 and up to 360mm AIO on the F46.

The case has a spacious interior with clearance of up to 350mm for graphics cards and up to 169mm for air coolers. For storage drives, the cases come with 2x 3.5" and 3x 2.5" drive bays. The PSU area is at the top inside a shroud with several routing holes for easier cable connection. The motherboard tray has several cutouts to expose the connectors at the back for easier connection but also supports the regular motherboards as well.

Both F46 and F36 also have some modularity and allow users to relocate the front I/O hub to the top according to their needs. The I/O comes with USB 3.0 and USB C ports for peripheral connectivity and a Power button for starting the machine.

GameMax has launched F46 and F36 in three different color variations and editions: Dark, Black, and White where the Dark edition is cheapest because it brings an opaque side panel. On the other hand, Black and White editions bring a tempered glass side panel for a clear view and are a few bucks costlier.
