Major European Retailers Are Witnessing "Four Times" Higher Return Rates With Intel's 14th Gen & 13th Gen CPUs 1

The frustrating instability problem with Intel's 13th & 14th Gen CPUs has forced Alderon Games to make a dedicated in-game popup.

Intel's instability problems on its 13th/14th gen CPUs have caused so much trouble that now even game developers are forced to notify their customers about the possible cause of the game crash. Alder Games, the developer behind the title, Path of Titans, has now created an in-game warning pop-up window solely dedicated to users who are running the game on Intel's 13th and 14th gen processors.

Twitter user @9550pro posted a pic of the warning window that explains the reason for the abrupt crashes. The window pops up after Path of Titans crashes suddenly, stating, "The game has crashed", which is as a result of, "We have detected you have the following CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 13700K". As we know, the instability problems only occur on the Core i7s and i9s and can end up freezing your computer or crashing any game or application whenever there is a voltage spike.

The warning window further states that the CPU has problems with Unreal Engine 5. Path of Titans is built using the latest UE 5.3 and it's not the first time we have heard about the application crashing running on these CPUs. The UE's supervisor at ModelFarm also reported a 50% failure rate on 13900K and 14900K-based systems, forcing the development team to think about switching to AMD.

Alderon Games already warned its customers about Intel CPUs and didn't hesitate to say that the company is selling 'defective' 13/14th gen CPUs. Their reason for stating such is based on the 100% failure rate they have recorded in the past 3-4 months, which eventually resulted in the permanent deterioration of Intel CPUs, something that has been shared by numerous users around the globe. Hence, a new warning window has been added to their game to let unaware users know about the actual culprit behind those frequent crashes.

Not only Alderon Games, but Warframe staff and Epic Games also acknowledged the issue, offering temporary solutions to prevent such problems with their games. The problem has escalated to the point that many users are switching to AMD and some are waiting for the newer Ryzen 9000 CPUs. Intel has given its date for releasing the microcode, which will supposedly fix the problem to a good extent but it has to monitor it regularly to mitigate the problem permanently for good.
