Following the announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro, Sony has revealed a list of games set to be playable upon launch. The new console, which costs a whopping S$1,069 is set to arrive on 7 November and promises to deliver improved visuals and performance for both new and existing titles.
In their blog post, they have officially announced that 13 (existing and upcoming) games will receive dedicated PS5 Pro versions. These are:
- Alan Wake 2
- Assassin's Creed: Shadows
- Demon's Souls
- Dragon's Dogma 2
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
- Gran Turismo 7
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Marvel's Spider-Man 2
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- The Crew Motorfest
- The First Descendant
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered
Each of these games will be labelled separately to indicate their PS5 Pro optimisation.
For games like The Last of Us Part 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the games are expected to achieve Fidelity mode-like visuals at 60 frames per second, which is an improvement over their base PS5 versions. In layman terms, this means a boost in performance without sacrificing visual quality.
While only 13 titles have been announced so far for the PS5 Pro, there is no doubt Sony and publishers will add even more games in the future. According to an interview with CNET, an additional 40 to 50 games will receive enhancement patches, although it is currently unknown what these titles are.
