Former Intel CPU Architecture Experts Unveil Their RISC-V Focused Startup “AheadComputing”

Some of Intel's former senior-level experts have launched their chip startup, AheadComputing, targeting the growing RISC-V core IP segment.
Things at Intel are quite gloomy, especially in the past few quarters, which has apparently prompted multiple individuals to leave the firm, and now, a group of ex-Intel experts have joined hands together to create a startup that will solely target the development of RISC-V products for the markets. AheadComputing, which includes the likes of Debbie Marr, Mark Dechene, Jonathan Pearce, and Srikanth Srinivasan, aims to create RISC-V core IPs for the markets, similar to how Jim Keller's Tenstorrent functions.
The onboard experts reportedly have a combined experience of over 80 years at Intel, which shows the level of commitment and expertise they will bring to the industry, especially in a domain that mainstream players have yet to tap. Unfortunately, AheadComputing hasn't announced its intentions for the markets yet, and neither have they given statements regarding the drive that motivated them to initiate the startup in the first place.
Each ex-Intel employee has well-versed experience in their particular domain. Debbie Marr, the startup's Co-Founder and CEO, was an Intel Fellow and Chief Architect of the Advanced Architecture Development Group (AADG) and is responsible for Team Blue's hyper-threading technology. Similarly, Co-Founder Mark Dechene was an Intel Principal Engineer and CPU Architect and has worked closely with Intel's consumer CPUs. Jonathan Pearce and Srikanth Srinivasan come on board with similar experiences, showing that AheadComputing already has a massive headstart.
Now, the big question here is why RISC-V? There is a heated debate between x86 and RISC-V, especially in terms of the use cases of respective architectures in the domain of AI and HPC. Since RISC-V offers great scalability and an open-source environment, it is indeed a preferable choice for developers and manufacturers looking to stand out in the market. We have seen a robust AI portfolio being offered by Tenstorrent, which is said to offer phenomenal price-to-performance ratios.
We still have to wait and see what AheadComputing offers for the world of technology, and by the looks of it, they are indeed preparing something massive for the markets.
