EK Preps New Cooling Solutions For Next-Gen GPUs Midst Controversy

The next-gen GPU lineups may arrive before 2024 ends as EK is continuing its operations, planning to launch new products this year.

It has been a controversial year for EK, the company popular for its water-cooling products, which has been in the news for 'allegedly' not paying its employees on time. However, amid the controversy, EK isn't planning to stop any time soon and is planning to launch newer products this year. What's interesting is that it revealed that it's going to launch new water-cooling solutions for the next-gen GPU series this year.

In a conversation with Overclock3D, the company has revealed the key information about the next-gen GPUs alongside addressing the controversy calling them 'unwarranted attempts to tarnish' their brand reputation. EK said,

EK is not only continuing its operations, but is also excited to accelerate the launch of our game-changing Next product line. We are developing new products and preparing to introduce unparalleled cooling solutions for the new GPU series announced for release later this year. Moreover, EK is actively working to expand its presence in markets where our brand visibility has been limited.

It further added that the company will expand its presence in the market even further, achieving higher visibility. As clear from their statement, one of the major GPU manufacturers is ready to launch its new GPU lineup this year. This is contrary to what has been in the reports that suggest the next-gen GPUs will arrive next year. It's also possible that only a few GPUs arrive from one of the GPU manufacturers with their official launch for purchase in early 2025.

While NVIDIA is preparing its Blackwell RTX 50 series, AMD is ready with its RDNA 4-based RX 8000 GPUs. Recently, we reported that NVIDIA's high-end RTX 5090 and 5080 designs are going to be completed this month, which will reportedly consume more power than their predecessors. This is most probably why EK is readying newer waterblocks. The company is also preparing new cooling solutions for the next-gen GPU lineup so expect some fresh action on the Founders Edition front.

EK also provides water blocks for AMD GPUs but as the RDNA 4 lineup is most probably going to feature the budget and mid-range Navi 44 and Navi 48 GPUs, it doesn't look like EK is hinting towards the RX 8000 series. Intel is also preparing its Arc Battlemage lineup featuring the Xe2 architecture and that is expected to be released later this year though no official confirmations have been made yet. So we can all sit back and guess which GPUs are releasing this year but NVIDIA is the most likely candidate.

Nonetheless, whichever the GPU series EK is planning to make the new cooling solutions for, may be announced at the end of this year with the official launch at CES 2025 or later.
