DIY-APE To Unveil Several “Backside” Connector Products At CES: Colorful, ASUS, MSI Motherboards & First Radeon RX 7000 GPUs Included

DIY-APE has announced its collaboration with several motherboard and GPU partners to bring more backside connector products to market.

DIY-APE has always been at the helm of offering the latest hidden and backside connector PC components in the industry. We have seen various designs from the hardware maker who has collaborated with the likes of ASUS, MSI, and MaxSun on various occasions and is now planning even more products for 2024.

The back-inserted universe has added new members

The products in the picture will basically be released or sold in January. Sapphire-powered hidden graphics cards will also enter mass production this month. At the CES show in another week, the ROG back-mounted motherboard will be unveiled.

Over at its Bilibili social channel, DIY-APE has confirmed that throughout 2024, they will launch a host of new products, some of which have already been teased. The most interesting one is the upcoming Sapphire Radeon RX 7000 GPU family with hidden connectors which is expected to go into the mass production phase this month. These will be the first hidden connector designs for an AMD GPU based on the RDNA 3 graphics architecture. This design is already used by various AIBs such as ASUS, Colorful, GALAX & Inno3D. You can check out the Colorful Ultra Z RTX 40 series GPUs here.

Meanwhile, DIY-APE is continuing its backside connector motherboard portfolio with more options, this time including Colorful to the mix. The company has teased its upcoming Colorful Z790 ULTRA which is a premium white colored and white PCB motherboard featuring a very aesthetically pleasing design.

In addition to that, DIY-APE is also working with ASUS on a new TUF Gaming white motherboard (a follow-up to its BTF connector-less motherboard unveiled back at Computex 2023), the MSI Z790 Project Zero motherboard (expected to be released on 18th January), and the MAXSUN Terminator H770YTX D5. These boards are designed with lots of engineering expertise and their main goal is to get rid of the cable clutter that's usually on the front side of the motherboards.

Routing the cables on the back is a great thing but it also requires a proper PC casing ecosystem. DIY-APE knows this and is working with casing manufacturers such as Lian Li, Phanteks, MSI, and ASUS on new designs that are fully compliant with the backside connector layout for both boards and GPUs.

The company is even planning a high-end ASUS ROG motherboard with backside power connector design which should be unveiled at CES next week. If you are someone who is looking forward to the new backside/hidden connector designs for your upcoming PC build, then 2024 is going to be a great year for such builders.
