Cooler Master Displays Massive Prototype GPU Cooler With Dual Mobius Fans, Gen5 SSD Heatsink & New AIO Coolers

Cooler Master has a new aftermarket GPU cooler that the company claims offers much better cooling than most custom designs from AIBs.

The new solution is a very early prototype since it is called "Project VGA cooler". The GPU cooler is said to replace the cooling solution of your graphics card with what the company is claiming to be much more superior in terms of its cooling prowess. The shroud, which comes in black and silver colors, features two fans mounted to it. These two fans are 120mm Mobius designs which were recently announced.

According to Cooler Master, the Mobius 120 fan features a loop dynamic bearing design and an innovative blade design, all centered around top-notch quality control. The fans are designed to offer high levels of airflow at very low noise, following are the main highlights of this fan:

  • Designed for Small Spaces: Ultra-slim profile fits tight spaces, ideal for small form factor builds.
  • Loop Dynamic Bearing Design: Includes an oil reflow system, dustproof wall, and magnetic ring for enhanced performance and longevity.
  • Innovative Blade Design: Connected blades with an outer ring for stabilized airflow and reduced noise.
  • Top-Notch Quality Control: Produced on an AI-assisted line and rigorously noise-tested.
  • Now we have seen several aftermarket coolers on the market but the main issue that arises with such designs is compatibility. Cooler Master is simply not going to replace the heatsink below the cooler since that requires extra work and making an aftermarket cooler in itself is challenging since each graphics card has a different design that needs to be evaluated.

For its demo, Cooler Master used an ASUS GeForce RTX 4090 TUF Gaming graphics card but whether the same design works with ASUS's ROG STRIX model is a different story. As mentioned earlier, this design is still a very early prototype. Cooler Master is also working with PNY on a flagship RTX 4090 graphics card that we saw during Computex 2023.

In addition to the prototype GPU cooler, Cooler Master is also experimenting with various Gen5 and NVMe SSD heatsinks. A range of models were showcased including an all-copper vapor-chamber design, black cover models, and a few metallic surfaces with the Cooler Master logo. These logos are expected to be lit up with RGB lighting.

Other highlights included a new range of AIO liquid coolers including the G11 which was recently announced alongside the massive V8 3DVC CPU heatsink which arrives later this year. Expect more information in the coming months.
