Colorful has named its upcoming motherboard as the iGame Z790D5 Vulcan V20 X for the black model & the iGame Z790D5 Vulcan V20 W for the white model, with no difference in specifications. Starting with the details, the motherboards adopt an E-ATX form factor featuring exact dimensions of 305mm × 277mm. These boards feature a 19+1+1 phase enhanced power design with 105A Dr MOS power phases onboard, allowing a seamless experience, especially in overclocking conditions.

For memory and storage support, the Colorful iGame Z790D5 Vulcan V20 motherboards feature four DIMM slots, supporting DDR5-7800 MT/s (OC) memory. For storage, the motherboards are equipped with 1x PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 SSD slots and 3x PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 SSD slots. In addition, they also feature six SATA III hard drive interfaces, providing ample connectivity for all your storage needs.

In terms of the overall design, well Colorful has nailed it with its upcoming motherboards since they feature a protective plate both at the back and the front, not only to provide a sleek look but to ensure optimal heat dissipation. The motherboard offers a 1x 5.0×16 PCIe slot, along with two PCIe 4.0 x 4 slots as well, which are hidden under the front protective plate. Colorful has also included a unique heatsink for the VRMs that comes with a reflective look but isn't illuminated.

For connectivity and network options, the iGame Z790D5 Vulcan V20 motherboards are equipped with 2x RJ45 network ports and support WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connections as well. Here is how the rear I/O panel is decorated, offering extensive options for connectivity:

  • 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A interfaces

  • Overall, the upcoming iGame Z790D5 Vulcan V20 motherboards by Colorful are solid picks for consumers looking for a high-end option in the Z790 segment if they intend to get looks and quality in a single package. The flagship motherboards are expected to retail by September 2, so we don't have an idea of the pricing for now.

For those who are wondering why Colorful is releasing Intel Z790 motherboards so late, well these are for high-end gaming PCs and also for their pre-built PCs which will start rolling out soon. The company also has Z890 motherboards in the works which we spotted at Computex here.
